Emergency!!!

by runeatrepeat on January 15, 2009

I just dropped a BIG soup can on my big toe. I hurts unbelievably bad and I don’t know what to do. It happened over 30 minutes ago and I am still in major pain. The nail turned blue almost immediately, but I don’t even care about that. I have ice on it right now.

How can I tell if I broke it?

you’d have to get an xray. usually they don’t do anything for broken toes. but if it’s really bothering you i would actually get it checked just to know, cuz you would prolly be BEST staying off it for as long as possible, til you have to run (marathon)…

RICE it!
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

Try that for a while and see how you feel.

Ice is good. If you break a toe you will know it. I once stubbed my little toe on the bathroom door in the middle of the night (I didn’t know it was closed). When I woke up the next morning the sheet laying on my toe hurt..

I’ve got to say, your toenails look really nice for the wintertime! Hope you feel better! Congrats on your engagement!

I’ve broken my toe before, and pretty much it just hurts like a B**** But to be honest, there isn’t much you can do for it. Just tape it to the other toe with sports tape, and ice it 2 x daily for 15 minutes. I’ve competed in gymnastics with broken toes, so running should be fine. Good luck and hope your marathon goes amazingly. I’m sure you’ll kick ass. My marathon is in April, and my training has been going, blah….
