Do you remember when Mother’s Cookies ceased production late last year? I for one was devastated. I didn’t eat Mother’s cookies often, but the thought that they were no longer an option in the cookie aisle was a travesty to this cookie lover.
Well, in December 2008 the Kellogg Company acquired the trademarks and original recipes, so they are back baby!
Mother’s Cookies will be back on store shelves May 4, 2009, just in time for Mother’s Day! You know your mom would love some of these
I was recently lucky enough to receive a box of Mother’s Circus Cookies in the mail. (It was part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program.) But…there was a little problem with the package getting to me – not to my house, because it got there fine, but actually getting to me. My brother Michael got the package when I was gone and couldn’t resist the siren’s song coming from inside so he opened them.
Then, he and my other brother, Matthew, happily ate away…
Guilty!
Lucky for them both they left me some. They are as good as I remember and I really enjoyed them. The nutrition info is not the best, but every once in a while you have to say “F it” and eat some good ol’ store bought cookies. These are a classic and have been around 95 years!
I don’t know if it’s the taste, the fun animal shapes or the memories of eating them as a kid, but I love em.
