Hand over the veggies!

by runeatrepeat on June 4, 2009

The only bad thing about traveling is the lack of access to fresh produce! I love traveling, but I hate that you have to eat out the whole time. I try to plan ahead, so I don’t just live off crap, but sometimes you can’t avoid it!

This morning I ran 4 miles. My legs are still tired so I cut it early and went back to the room to do 20 minutes of yoga :) Yogadownloads is amazing! This is exercise that you can do with no equipment, while traveling & it makes you feel good.

Foodies 1979Since we didn’t have the rental car yet, I had to walk to 7-11 for yogurt and a naner for breakfast. I also had an apple from the hotel breakfast bar, so I ditched the naner.

Finally! We got the rental car and were able to travel around! It is a yellow Aveo. I love it.Foodies 1990

Foodies 1989For lunch we went to a new (to me) Thai restaurant. I love Thai food! Actually, I think it’s my favorite type of food. Can’t get enough :)

The interior was decorated with colorful parasols all over the ceiling. Foodies 1984

Foodies 1985The lunch came with a spring roll and soup. I think every meal should start with soup :)

Foodies 1987I ordered the Tofu and Vegetables. Good stuff, but the tofu was seriously deep fried.

Foodies 1994A bit later I was hungry and stopped at the grocery store for fruit. I gave Ben about 4 blueberries and ate the rest.

Veggie Time!

We had some important business to attend to and after that was done we went to the Columbia,MD mall for a gift. By then we were super hungry and I was desperate for veggies for dinner.

The good thing about mall dining is you and your dining companion can get food from 2 different places and still eat together. Ben got Chick-fil A and I went to a salad/wrap place. I made my own salad with a ton of veggies and black beans for protein.Foodies 1995

Foodies 1999I also got a baked potato for carbs. I love ketchup, salt and pepper on my baked ‘taters. Does anyone else do that? When I asked the girl for ketchup she laughed!

DSCN9743After finding a new hotel for night #2 in MD I had a sweet tooth. I ate some melted trail mix. I love how the chocolate melted around the fruit and nuts and made chocolate balls of trail mix.

Tomorrow holds another fun filled day of travels in Maryland! It’s so green here and the weather is perfect :) Then, Friday morning we’re off to Florida!

I love the rental car! That’s so cool that it’s yellow. We always end up with silver, haha. ALWAYS.
That restaurant looks adorable! The decor is awesome.
I have ketchup on my baked potatoes too… is that weird? haha. It’s like french fries!
Have a great day :)

That’s such a coincidence. You were in my hood yesterday, got a salad from the same place as I did for lunch (Bistro Sensations? I had the Thai salad w/ no chicken), and we were probably there at the same exact time. Weird!!!!
