Walk and stretch

by runeatrepeat on July 2, 2009

Marathon Training : Today was a rest day. The Runner’s World training program defines rest days…

Rest Days: Ideally, on rest days you should not exercise at all. But it’s okay to cross-train with a no-impact activity like stretching, yoga, or swimming.

I took a 40 minute walk this morning with Ben and then made it to YOGA!!!

DSCN1256Breakfast – I really wanted to dig into my new Amazing Grass today so I made a smoothie with the Mango/Pom flavor. I used Almond Milk, spinach, frozen blubes and the packet. It was a little grainy for my taste and could have used a banana, but I liked it all right…DSCN1254

I also had a mini-bagel on the side with almond butter. DSCN1257

After breakfast I went to yoga…it’s been too long! I really missed it and had the best time. I’m always intimidated to go to yoga because I don’t feel “good at it”, but I’m always glad I went :)

I super happy that I just realized there is a good yoga studio in my new city of residence in MD!!!

Watermelon after yoga :) DSCN1258

Lunch was a massive salad topped with the new tempeh from yesterday. I love this stuff! Plus a piece of cheese bread on the side.DSCN1266

This is the bread I’ve been raving about…I get it at Costco in a double pack. But – they don’t have it at every Costco, even the ones in Southern California, some have it, some don’t…Tay was right when she guessed:)DSCN1261

I also dipped into this Hummus Quartet…I use hummus in Ben’s sandwiches instead of mayo and of course I love to eat it up too!DSCN1263

I definitely prefer hummus to mayo, so much more flavor! I started making wraps for my husband’s lunches and he loves the hummus on there. :)

I’ve been wanting to try Yoga but truthfully I’ve been ‘scared’ to because I will look like an idiot…sounds like I should just do it.

I love hummus. I wish I could switch hubby from mayo to hummus. He likes BOTH. Go fig.

I just read the first bit of your post before this one and I’m lovvvving that “Cancel my subscription because I’m over your issues.”

haha YES!! I knew I recognized that end piece. I’d recognize my true love anywhere :-) When I go home to visit, I always buy a loaf and bring it home with me, love it that much!

Welcome to Columbia! I’m pretty sure I know of this yoga studio you speak of because I go there for pilates :) I haven’t taken a yoga class but a friend of mine takes the yoga 1-2 class & loves his teacher!
