Fresh, Homemade Bread – Easy Style

by runeatrepeat on December 17, 2009

I have always wanted to bake my own whole wheat bread and actually got a used bread maker before we moved. But, along with some of my most prized possessions I had to leave it in CA icon sad Fresh, Homemade Bread Easy Style

But, today I searched the web for a super easy bread recipe with the ingredients I already had on hand. I don’t have yeast – so I had to find a recipe without one of the most common ingredients!IMG 3276 400x300 Fresh, Homemade Bread Easy Style

I decided on this Whole Wheat Molasses Bread recipe. I didn’t put in the corn meal because I didn’t have it and added an egg and a bit of sugar (I tasted the batter and it was a little bitter).

The downside is this bread is too soft for sandwich making (which was my ultimate goal). And Ben said it looked like gingerbread so he was disappointed it wasn’t a “dessert bread”.

I enjoyed two huge pieces with butta icon smile Fresh, Homemade Bread Easy Style This was basically dinner since I had been snacking all afternoon anyways. Busted!IMG 3279 400x300 Fresh, Homemade Bread Easy Style

I have the travel bug and so does he, so it works.  I’ve been researching the Galapagos and Macchu Pichu for a while icon smile Fresh, Homemade Bread Easy Style Ben and I love to travel and I love documenting my adventures on the blog. If you want to go to Rome, you should consider doing a hostel tour of the entire country. I did it in college and it was super cheap and a blast!

Like you, I’ve always wanted to make my own bread. I haven’t dared to do so yet. But I’ll try to make some soon enough. The bread looks delicious, by the way.

Bread for dinner? Sounds good to me!

Your travel list is far more exciting than mine — I still have an extensive list of U.S. cities I want to visit!

Why couldn’t you make money as a travel blogger? I think you could do it! Writing about travel and getting paid for it is one of my dreams, too.

I sooo have the travel bug – the last year has included Puerto Rico, Italy, England, and San Francisco. Luckily my BF travels a ton for work and we work those loyalty points like nobody’s business.

I have also done an African safari. Out of control, once in a lifetime stuff.

Also, I am heading to Costa Rica in a week! We are staying in Tamarindo. So excited.
