Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

Two girls at work are pregnant. Ben’s sister is due in April. And today I went to a baby shower for my cousin Vanessa (also due in April). I’m getting pretty dehydrated over here because I refuse to drink the water wlEmoticon winkingsmile1 Sushi in Little Tokyo LAIMG 7159 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

Everything was decorated so cute! But you couldn’t say the word “cute” because it was one of the party games!!IMG 7168 600x800 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

Most of the decorations were made by hand – even the sign for her name, AutumnIMG 7172 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LAIMG 7171 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

I had zero Smores Pops because I don’t like marshmallow. I mean, because it’s Lent.IMG 7156 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

I didn’t end up finishing my Whole Foods salad earlier (more because of rushing not because I wasn’t hungry!) and just added a few toppings and finished it off at the party. IMG 7185 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

We sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. It was 80 degrees today. God Bless CA.IMG 7176 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LAIMG 7180 600x800 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

While we played games my mom opened the favors and I ended grabbing a few mindlessly. I made her eat the rest of them as punishment.IMG 7187 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

Ness and I grew up pretty close, spending the summers in my grandma’s pool for weeks on end. But now we live so far from each other we rarely hang out wlEmoticon sadsmile1 Sushi in Little Tokyo LASCAN0197 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

Since I was in the neighborhood of my mom’s I made plans to have dinner with Susan. She’s one of my best friends, but we don’t hang out nearly enough. Susan took me to Little Tokyo in L.A. for sushi.IMG 7229 600x800 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LAIMG 7210 600x800 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LAIMG 7209 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

One of their specials was Pumpkin Tempura. YES, please! This was good.IMG 7224 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

The sushi was just okay though. Susan and I both thought it was a little squishy.IMG 7217 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

She also brought a container of vitamins from her holistic Mexican spa doc. Don’t ask. IMG 7225 600x800 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

We really had no idea how to eat the grilled rice cake and were laughed at. Luckily, I get laughed at a lot so it ain’t no thing.IMG 7219 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LAIMG 7221 800x600 thumb Sushi in Little Tokyo LA

I’m not a kid person, so it’s pretty rare that I think a child is cute. But, um, a tiny red head in a sailor dress? Adorable.

ahhh cute baby shower stuff! im planning a friends shower and need ideas so i like to see what other people do. btw, sushi sounds SOO good right now. since we live in the mountains of colorado, there aren’t too many sushi places nearby :( sad.

I hosted my sisters shower two weekends ago – One of the best things I thought I did was to get a hardcover children’s book and have all the guests write notes to the baby to be. That way when the child is read to and learns to read it can see how loved they are by everyone. :)

I love that little sailor dress too!
I worked at a daycare awhile ago and 5 girls were pregnant! And I ended up leaving because I got pregnant too. I really do think there was something in that water…

It was weird, like a thick piece of cheese but not salty. I don’t think we ate it right because we saw someone pick it up with the seaweed and take a bite.
