Trick – Or – Eating

Happy Halloween! Remember last weekend when Ben and I hit up the Goodwill for our costume supplies? No one guessed we were going to be… The Tortoise and the Hare! After work I grabbed my costume supplies, picked up Ben from work and headed to my mom’s for trick-or-eating. She made tortilla soup because she thought wanted to be healthy (and normally I kinda sorta do … [Read more...]

Happy Halloween 2012

Happy Halloween! I really screamed, “Happy Halloween to me!” this morning when I walked into the kitchen to find a spider saying hello! Exercise: Jillian’s 6 Week Six Pack and a walk later Breakfast: Happy Halloween eggs and pumpkin oatmeal with pumpkin butter and almond butter It’s Halloween, but I work from home so I don’t think I’ll bother squeezing into the Sexy … [Read more...]

Packing for the New York Marathon

Hello, when we last spoke I was telling you about how I dramatically fell on this morning’s easy 4 miler. Does anyone else find it ironic that I can walk 3 miles reading Google Reader on my phone but can’t run 4 miles without crashing?! I iced my knee 2 times today and took Ibuprofen this morning. It’s just a little stiff for now, hopefully it won’t get worse overnight. … [Read more...]

And Then I Fell 5 Days Before the New York Marathon

I fell. I fell this morning on my run. Puchero. I woke up before my alarm around 5:20am today and figured it was my body’s way of telling me to get up. I have a busy day, so I crawled out of bed and I peeked outside to see it was still very dark. So, I put my super bright Brooks Running Vest on so cars would see me in the dark. It was a bit chilly too so I also donned my … [Read more...]

Pre-Run Wear

Today was bizee! I was about to open my personal email after work but then realized I needed a breather before attacking it. So, I went on a little walk with this weekend’s WINNER of the Paso Robles Marathon… Skinny Runner! I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be that cool or fast or skinny or runny. Great job SR! Then, I went to the Goodwill to get some throw away gear … [Read more...]

Marathon Week

AHHH! Marathon Week is here! It feels like it was four months ages ago when I went to New York to film the videos for the ING Class of 2012. Seriously, the race felt so far away at that point it didn’t seem real. Now all the training is done and it’s time to just rest, carb load and get ready to travel across the country and run 26.2 miles. I am nervous, so getting my … [Read more...]

Rock N Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon

This morning I woke up before 5am to get on the road 2 hours before the RnR Halloween Half Marathon in LA. Los Angeles is about 50 miles north of me so I figured a hour to drive there and an hour to park/get to the start. I flew down the freeway until I got to the exit for the race. Then, stuff got crazy. Short story: I sat on the freeway off ramp bridge for 45 minutes inching … [Read more...]

Run For Something Better

This morning I woke up early, but not for a long run. Nope. Today I went to watch other people run, specifically I went to the ING Kids Rock Los Angeles fun run. It was at the Home Depot Center in Carson, which is near and dear to my heart so I happily made the drive north for the event. ING Kids Rock Los Angeles is a one mile non-timed event where 1,500 kids come together … [Read more...]

Friday Treats and Pumpkin Day Recipes

Hello and Happy Friday! I am running a half marathon this weekend and the ING NY Marathon is next weekend. Normally this is so NOT my style. I am a big believer in taper taper taper. But, I got a free bib from ING and I love halfs and it’s in LA so I couldn’t turn it down. (I’m going to take it easy, more on that later.) Soooo, this morning I did an easy 4 miles and tomorrow … [Read more...]

Fake It Till You Make It

I had a lunch date today! Ben has jury duty this week and got picked for a case (I told him to say he was biased, but he’s all honest and ish). He had a 1.5 hour lunch and came home to eat with me. It was nice I’m very superstitious and insecure, so I normally hesitant to tell you about things that I’m nervous about because it gives me anxiety. But, I’m sharing this … [Read more...]

Not Too Smart Not Too Smart

So, last night I tried to add a page to RER that would update all my Instagram pictures automatically for all of you who don’t use the ‘gram (and so I can scroll back through my life when I’m 86 years old and remember the good ol’ days). But, I did it wrong and it updated on the front page. When I saw that this morning I was like, “FWORD!!! THE SKY IS FALLING! CALL THE … [Read more...]

Running Vest From Space

Last night I had my second favorite dinner after pizza –> salmon, sweet potatoes, veggies… and wine! I enjoyed a little chocolate after dinner but stayed at the table chatting with Ben instead of eating a pile of it while watching Housewives of America. This morning it was a little chilly so I busted out my bright pink Brooks running vest. I’m pretty sure you can see me … [Read more...]

Sunflower Seed Butter and Celery

Hello! How’s it going? It was sprinkling this morning!!! Crazy! A week ago it was 110 degrees and today sprinkles?! Vegas didn’t care and sat outside on the wet fence so he could drag his muddy feet back into the house. He’s grounded for a week. After my easy 4 miler I was craving oatmeal and polka dots Then, I ate lunch during a conference call and then met Skinny … [Read more...]

Green Giant Seasoned Steamers

I am drowning over here. I don’t know how people with kids, actual social lives and/or a long commute do it because between work, my recent travels and RER I feel like I am constantly behind on everything. My “type C” and high anxiety personality don’t help matters either <- bad combo. But, I did successfully get through a packed day of work, emails, conference calls and … [Read more...]
