Weight Loss Wednesday–Breath Slim Review

{RER has been down all day. I apologize for the delay. Maybe it was a sign this post should have never happened. But I asked the big guy up above and he said he didn’t send that sign, so it’s going up…}

There is one way to lose weight in a healthy manner – eat less, move more. Whether you count points or get lap band or join a gym or all of the above, it still comes down to that equation on some level.

But, the diet industry is a multi-million dollar machine and new weight loss products, books and fads are always coming out. Then, I got to thinking about how I like reading and hearing reviews about different products – so, on a whim I accepted the Breath Slim device below. Hey, someone’s got to try this stuff before you spend your dirty green paper on it, might as well be your local RER store.

The claim is that using this tool will help you learn how to breath better and may result in weight loss, better sleep and overall health improvements. Big claims, huh.

I do think I’m bad at breathing while doing yoga or even running sometimes, but I don’t see how this product could help with that if the water spilled out every time you breath. Maybe I wasn’t doing it correctly, but I don’t think this one is user error.

In other news… I went on a walk this morning with Skinny Runner and Katie.

I woke up and hit the gym for a quick strength session and then grabbed an iced coffee while we chatted. I feel like walking and talking is the best way to catch up with friends!

Question: Do you ever do walking or active meet ups with your friends?

My old job used to have a walking club where we’d walk during lunch. I was the only girl and learned a lot about guys from those walks…

    I love meeting my friends to walk/run. I feel like my “free time” is so limited so if I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, I’ll take it. Not to mention it makes the workout go by so fast!

    I try to get my friends together to hike and walk but, frustratingly, we always end up doing something regarding food. Granted, I am partially to blame, but it does generally defeat them purpose (although occasionally a Sprinkles cupcake and a walk on the beach is pretty nice).

    No walking meetups, but I wish I did that with my friends!

    Also I noticed RER was down yesterday, made me sad. I was wondering if it was my browser. Glad to get today’s fix :-)

    That kind of looks like the incentive spirometer we give our Open Heart patients to open up their lungs… although it doesn’t have water and we wouldn’t make them breathe water in. That would be counterproductive.

    I totally get what you’re saying but it’s so disappointing to me to see an advertisement for another diet “gimmick”. I know losing weight is difficult (well, honestly, not from experience) but I’d so much rather read about YOUR weight loss that you achieved through running and eating right. Just my 2 cents :)

    I really enjoy working out with people but having kids can make it hard so we try to meet at fenced parks so we can keep the kids contained and we make up a circuit. Yesterday we did this and we did some strength moves then some of us would watch kids while others ran around the park. In the end we got a full body workout while our kids had a great time and I am so SORE today.

    Walking is a great way to get in extra activity in your day AND connect with friends. I’ll walk with pretty much anything with two legs, so don’t go hating if you see me & a kangaroo out and about. :) But usually I walk with my sister. Conversations are definitely classified, but at least we aren’t arguing!

    People don’t like to hear “I exercised more and ate less” when they ask how I lost weight. It’s true though! I know it’s frustrating. But I have no magic pill to share. Because I would be a freaking billionaire if I did.

    Nope, never meet up for walks or workouts with friends. I’d rather do that on my own so I usually decline…a walk I’d do though. Do you and SR have the same political views? Jessica

    Thanks for the honest review! I also enjoy walking to catch up with friends. I have a pal though who I always go rock climbing with; lots of fun.

    I have to admit, I laughed out loud when I saw the Breath Slim. Really?! It’s amazing that people pay for these things. Anyway, I don’t get to do nearly as many active meet ups as I would like. I think I will add more active meet ups to my neverending list of goals though.

    eat less, move more. I super super agree, the equation is actually really as simple as that. The problem actually is our discipline to eat less and to move more. Walking is a fun way to move more and catch up with friends, agree again. And I don’t think I want to breathe water like that too :)
