November 2012 Highlights

No, I’m not talking about hair highlights (but they are on my brain since I really want them right now)… I started my day with a 5 mile run and just couldn’t get into a groove. It was nice to turn around and head back home   It’s the last day of November so I wanted to do a quick hello and share my favorite Run, Eat and Repeat from November 2012… Favorite Run – Santa … [Read more...]

Race Insurance–Would You Get It?

Hellooo! I just wrapped up dinner and was going through emails when I saw this press release that I wanted to talk about with you  (random picture to fill the sad void of appropriate images related to this post) So, if we were friends in real life I’d call you right now and be all like, “Hey, what are you doing? Have you gotten your hangnail fixed yet? Anyway. Did you … [Read more...]

Things to do Thursday

I have been catching myself holding my breath all day today! Not good. I have a lot to do before this weekend and it’s all just bouncing around in my head stressing me out (and keeping me from breathing). I need to calm down and get organized so I’m making a list…  Work – I have one project to wrap up before EOD Friday  Write – I have a Freelance … [Read more...]

Weight Loss Wednesday New Book and Muffins

This weekend while I was ordering Christmas gifts for my brothers (two peeps crossed off my list!) I ordered a little something for myself... I bought the Oxygen Diet Solution book. In my defense Mr. Amazon suggested it to me (based on other things I looked at) and when someone suggests you read a diet book it’s best you just do it before it all goes to shit. Thanks Mr. A. … [Read more...]

Vegas is Not Impressed

Hello! I had a busy day and am just now realizing I should get through a few emails before I shut down the computer and let myself become hypnotized by Housewives and HoneyBooBoo. Tonight dinner was inspired by Sarah Fit . She tweeted something about cauliflower rice and since ‘real rice’ is all full of arsenic and I love carbs, I figured I should give a whirl. It’s easy (if … [Read more...]

Fueling For a Night Race

Helloooo! This morning I ran 1.5 miles to the gym, messed around with the weights and then ran back. Breakfast was a veggie omelet with a flatout spread with Laughing Cow cheese. I also had a scoop of sunflower seed butter while cooking because I cannot go without it. Happy Holidays! I got this Rosemary tree from Trader Joe’s yesterday and am tempted to just use this for … [Read more...]

Losing the Internet War against Al Gore (rhymes with whore)

I spent all day fighting with the internet… and I lost. For some reason after the TV guy came my internet was not cooperating. I would blame him, but it’s more likely that my 6 year old laptop needs to be taken out back and put out of it’s misery. I basically spent over 8 hours today trying to connect to the internet, cussing, restarting, calling the help desk, crying, … [Read more...]

Six More Days for Pile On the Miles 2012

Good day! I started my day with a slow 6 mile run. My legs feel tight and tired – I really need to get to yoga this week. Oh, and my quads said a massage would be much appreciated too. Noted. I wore my new super awesome Brooks Pure Flows the company sent me last week. I am in love with the color. Love love love! Speaking of feets… my poor toe nails are all blue and sad from … [Read more...]

Mt. Baldy Scenic Lift Ride and Lunch

Hello! This morning I took a 3 mile walk before the usual breakfast. Then, Ben and I got ready and headed to my brother and Heather’s for a fun double date. I bought a Groupon a few weeks ago for the Mt. Baldy scenic lift ride and lunch. It came with 4 chair lift tickets and $40.00 toward lunch. Mt. Baldy is only about an hour inland from my fam’s so we got there in no … [Read more...]

Spatchcock Saturday

Started my day with 13.1 miles. It was rough! I wanted to stop at mile 8. I only ate half a banana and a bite of Ben’s pancake and sausage breakfast before leaving. Not sure if my body wanted my usual PB toast or what but I hit a wall and ended my run earlier than planned. At least I got 13 miles in – I have a half marathon next weekend and another half the weekend after that … [Read more...]

Friday Favorites– Pumpkin Smoothie

Hello! I started my day with a 2 mile run to the gym and quick strength session. I really let strength slide during the last few months of training for the NYC Marathon so I’m on a mission to get back into it! In addition to getting back to strength training I am still working on cleaning up my diet. I challenged myself to try to eat cleaner Nov 6th and did great the first … [Read more...]

Thankful Thanksgiving 2012

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I am very very blessed. When I started to think about what I was thankful for this Thanksgiving my list was l-o-n-g! I spent 10 miles / an hour and a half pondering my blessings. It made me realize – I don’t deserve it. I have an amazing life and so so much to be thankful for… 1. Ben. He’s smart and strong and cute and funny and the most amazing … [Read more...]

Casserole Casserole Casserole

I read that over 43 million Americans are traveling today – were you one of them? Not me. I was working from home doing my recruiting job. How exciting. Then, I hit the grocery store for supplies. I’m making: Sweet Potato Casserole Green Bean Casserole Cornbread Casserole Casserole Casserole Pumpkin Casserole Cheesecake … [Read more...]

Holiday Oatmeal Bowl

Happy day before Thanksgiving! T-day is my favorite holiday because I love to run EAT repeat. This morning I ran about 1.5 miles to the gym for a strength session. It was pretty empty so I had all the weights to myself. I like that. I walked back home reading blogs on my phoner. Since I’m on Pacific time I get to see what everyone else had for breakfast for inspiration … [Read more...]
