Motivation and Music Monday–Recovery Songs

by runeatrepeat on March 18, 2013

Hello and Happy Monday!

This week I am leading a walking / running group for a corporate wellness retreat. The company set up a bunch of fitness options for their employees and I’m doing the “Move” group. Today we did a 3 mile power walk.

This was my view – I am a very lucky girl… image thumb53 Motivation and Music Monday–Recovery Songs

Motivation Monday.

Need some running motivation? Well, just read my LA Marathon race recap and think, “If she can do it, I can do it!”

Music for Recovery

This whole week will be about  marathon recovery for me so here are some slow jams to enjoy on a stroll:

Question: What animal do you run like?

I think I run like a golden retriever, or maybe I just look like one?

My sisters tell me I look like and run like a gazelle but I have big thighs so maybe a lion? :)

I thought I looked pretty normal when I ran until I made a little running debut on the 10:00 news for a Remembrance run I did. It was a 5K but for me it was miles 17, 18 and 19.50…I looked like a deformed old woman :D Oh well, at least I didn’t look like Phoebe! Oh yes, I was also wearing a Fuelbelt since it was my long run, who wears a Fuelbelt for a 5K?? :D

I’ve been told I run like a gazelle, which is a good thing, I guess? I’d like to think I run like a dog, too (super happy :D ).

I totally run like a tortoise but hey, slow & steady still finishes the race.

I’d like to think I’m like the Road Runner, but I’ve been told I’m more like Wile E. Coyote. I guess you can’t win them all.

I’m obsessed with Rihanna’s new song, and I love that Bruno Mars song too! I have no idea what kind of animal I run like. My friends and I had a conversation about “spirit animals” the other day and we collectively decided on one for each person but no one could pin point what mind was. Weird. In terms of running I’d say some sort of dog too- not too fast, not too slow.

Judging from some of the pictures I’ve seen I run like a half dead monkey haha. In my head I run like a cheeta!

I think I have to agree with Susan, I run like a tortoise.

That’s a gorgeous view! What animal do I THINK I run like? A gazelle, maybe an antelope? What animal do I ACTUALLY run like? Some kind of weird turtle/penguin hybrid, most likely.

I’m pretty sure that whatever animal I run like is partially injured and pants for air a LOT!

I would LIKE to think I look like a cheetah, or run like one, but, I’m sure I run more like a Giraffe!

I ran the DC Rock and Roll this past weekend with a PR in the half! Also I filmed a video at the Refuel booth at the Expo in hopes that I might be a member of Team Refuel :) I first heard about them via your blog, so thank you!!

I would love to run like my little dog!!! He NEVER tires or slows down. His PDR is 11 miles! He’s a rescue mix—1/2 black lab and 1/2 dauschand. Yep…..imagine a lab head and tail on a dauschand body!
