November Highlights

Okay. I’m back… from running and eating and doing day 2 of the 25 days of fitness challenge.

My ankle is still a little tight, but I didn’t realize it until the jumping jacks. I need to stretch and relax and take a shot. Noted Monica.

It’s December! What the heck. I have had a busy busy year and I guess it’s almost over. How did that happen?

Before we jam into the future I want to recap November’s highlights right quick.

Bread is out for 2014. Cats are in.

Yesterday I did a little Christmas shopping and spotted this 50 Shades of Chicken book. Ha! A few readers said it’s a really funny book so now I’m bummed I didn’t get it. Kinda.

Speaking of sad chicken porn, did you read 50 Shades of Grey?

I’m probably the only person who thought it was kinda boring. #NotImpressed

But, I guess that’s probably the same reaction you get when you come to RER everyday.

Bonus tip: There is also a 50 Shades of Bacon version. You’re welcome.

Question: Did you read 50 Shades or Grey or Chicken or both?

I’d rather shoot myself in the foot than read the original. I only have so many hours of my life to devote to reading- it’s gotta be good. But I do appreciate parodies, at least before they become overdone.

I don’t know how on earth I missed your National Sandwich Day post and the cannoli sandwich!!!!! (i must have been too busy preparing for the marathon the next day)….
My favorite RUN was NY too
My favorite EAT was the fresh whipped cream I scoffed down on Thansgiving (with and without pie)
My favorite REPEAT would be my PR at the Trenton Half Marathon
and I’d like to add my favorite MEET was you at the NYCM Expo =)

Perhaps pure bread cats are in? Then nothing has to be out. LOL!

Monica, My November Highlights were hanging out with you before the NYC Marathon, eating oatmeal and running the funnest marathon ever. The rest of my month sucked because I never heard from you again :(

I read the first 50 Shades book and couldn’t do the rest. I’m in the minority of people who were not only unimpressed but actually hated it.

Hysterical — I DID read the 50 shades series, but haven’t heard of the Chicken or Bacon version. I may need to try and find this. My MIL was talking about a wine she found recently that was 50 shades of grey…she thought it was the funniest thing ever. I may have found a Christmas gift ;)

I read 50 Shades of Grey for a book club I was part of … and only two of us didn’t like it… It definitely was the only book that everyone had finished reading by the time the meeting came around.

My favorite run was NYC also. It is a must do for all marathoners. My favorite eats were all in NYC also. The bagels, pizza, bakery items were awesome. I miss the East Coast.

  8. Jamie says

I was also unimpressed by the book–poorly written. I think I got about half way through the first one until I couldn’t take it anymore.

  9. says

When I tell people that I thought 50 Shades was boring, they probably think I’m a crazy sex freak. It just had really poor writing in my opinion.

Loved your blog in November, can’t wait to see what else is to come in December. :)

That cat is hilarious! I read the sample chapter of 50 Shades of Gray on my kindle and could NOT do it. I really thought “this has to be a joke”, like someone tried to write the worst book they could and see if they could get it published and have it be a hit…and it worked! I’m no book snob by any means but oh my, the writing is cringe-worthy.

  11. says

I didn’t read either. But my mom read 50 Shades of Grey three times. Not something I really want to hear from a 64 year old but whatever.

I saw the cat thing somewhere else. Too funny!

  12. says

Hahaha! Neither books! Am I the only one who hasn’t???!!! And I must have missed your Cannolli sandwich post – it looks yummylicious!

  13. Rob Runs says

I hated every moment of it, and myself, but I read all 50 Shades books (do not get me started on how much I hated them, I will never stop). I got my office mate 50 Shades of Chicken for Christmas last year. We read snippets out loud during our lunch hour, it was way better than the actual 50 Shades.

  14. says

I read 50 shades of grey. Overall….meh, but I will probably still see the movie.
I haven’t heard of that book 50 shades of chicken or as another commenter posted 50 shades of kale! I am definitely interested in those, esepecially the kale one!!

  15. Nic says

I thought 50 shades of grey was horrible. It’s pretty much the same storyline as twilight just take away the vampires and add bondage. Even some of the quotes in the book were almost the same.

  16. says

I didn’t read 50 Shades. I just haven’t really wanted to. My sister read it over the summer at the pool club we belong to and all the parents there kept staring at her. My mom didn’t know what the book was so she did not get why until we explained it to her.
