I made the exact same lunch as yesterday for today and just wasn’t feeling it. So, I went next door to the Giant market and got a salad from the salad bar. While $7.00 is A LOT cheaper than a WF salad it’s still 7 bucks I didn’t have to spend. At least I got a BIG one! Look at the salad container compared to the Kashi box. I was the only one at the salad bar using the biggest container. I think it’s meant to feed a party or something…
I don’t use dressing so I can use high-fat toppings as my dressing. I got some pasta salad, asian noodle salad and potato salad – on top of a lot of veggies!!! Kashis on the side 🙂
I also picked up a new find that I’ll tell you about later! Working next door to a supermarket is making it hard for me to stay on my food budget 🙁
Mid-morning I had some kiwi and watermelon. Boo, I’m all out of watermelon and since we’re leaving on Saturday I won’t have time to buy more until we get back. I’m hoping for some great Belize fruit on our trip 🙂
OH the whole foods salad bar sabotages my budget. Pretty much food shopping in general ruins my budgeting. Only food bloggers can spend too much on FOOD. ha
I love using other salads as toppings too. My fave being tabbouli 🙂 Ohmygosh, the fruit in Belize will be outstanding. That’s always the best part about travelling south! (beaches what? 😛 )
That 7 doallar salad looks delicious even though expensive! Makes you enjoy every bite though!
The fruit is Belize will be amazing, I’m sure!
I love going to salad bars every so often, but your right.. they can definitely add up and hurt the wallet. I am not one for dressing either… I like to add a little balsamic vinegar and that’s enough for me. and I am sure they will have plenty of yummy fruit in Belize! Lucky girl 🙂
Thats a big jass salad but it looks great!
Salad bars are always so tempting. They have so many delicious toppings that I don’t keep at home that make the salad so much yummier.
I love the WF salad bar but it is a treat for me because of price and distance to get to the closest one. But I do love it when I get it. Who wouldn’t love roasted yams, risotto balls and spinach and feta to go on their salads 🙂
