Snow Day

by runeatrepeat on February 10, 2010

It is a snowpocalypse here! Really, really unbelievable. All the schools around here are closed, Ben has a snow day from work and it’s still coming down. On the plus side, I see every little snowflake as a another reason why I’m moving to a warmer climate in a few months ;)

I want to hit up the gym, but it’s in the other building and our walks are still covered in snow, so I can’t just run from one building to another. I was hoping it would let up a bit, but that’s not happening.

I made some iced coffee while I made Ben breakfast because I’m a good wife and don’t want to feel guilty about anything he buys me for V day.*

If anyone cares, I made Ben french toast with this amazing Cinnamon Roll Bread from TJ’s. So.good.

After stalling for a while, hoping to convince Ben to go to the gym with me I finally made breakfast: bagel thin with almond butter and greek yogurt with banana and chia seeds.V-Day is coming and I know it bothers some peeps who are single. Don’t worry – sometimes boys (or girls) are overrated. Even Natalie Dee thinks so…

I agree with Lauren – that bread looks delish!

So did you convince Ben to go with you? I wouldn’t say I’m against Valentine’s Day, but it’s like Christmas to me … why do we need one (or in this case, two) day a year to show our love to people? Why can’t we do that throughout the entire year? And why do we have to have one (or two) days in the year where we MUST buy a gift for someone? I’d rather wait until the mood strikes, than be forced to show my affection on one day. Maybe it’s just me!

Geesh, did that come across as hostile?

Hope the snow lets up!

I thought about going to the gym — it’s a 4-minute walk — but it’s INSANE out there. Strong winds, nothing shoveled, can’t see in front of you. Maybe today is a rest day… ;)

Hang in there, Monica… I understand your pain. My husband and I are Pasadena/Seattle transplants to NYC and are in the midst of our 5th winter here. We’ve vowed that next winter will be our LAST and then we’re back to sunny shores!

Please tell what bagel thins are and where to find them!

I’m skipping the gym again today. It’s only about a 5 minute drive, but it’s cold and I don’t want to drag the baby out in this. I’m trying to pick a DVD to do today instead.

I feel your pain. This is my third day off work this week! I tried running in the snow yesterday and it was a disaster! And it looks like that problem won’t be remedied anytime soon :P ! I want to move to a warmer climate, too, but in DC’s defense, this really isn’t normal! We NEVER get this much snow!

I am shocked by how much snow you all are getting down in baltimore! I am from massachusetts and we literally don’t have any snow on the ground right now in western MA. I think that is supposed to change later today, though!

i can’t believe all the snow you are getting, i swear it’s not normally like this in MD, glad you have your sights on a warm city with your next move

I’m pretty sure my sense of humor is buried underneath all the snow in our driveway. I’m so over it.
Last year’s winter was NOTHING compared to this. My daughter went to school twice last week and not at all this week. I’m pretty sure they’ll cancel thurs and fri, too. The roads are horrible.
I’m losing it.
But, on a brighter note, that cinnamon raisin bread looks really tasty.

I love the comic! I can relate sometimes. My boyfriend can spend hours playing Tekken with his best friend. But I don’t really make a fuss of it because I kinda like Tekken. I’m just not good at it. O.o
