I am a sucker. Yep, if I see a “NEW!!!!” product on the shelves or on a commercial I throw my dirty green paper at the nearest sales person and have that new item in my grubby hands faster than you can say ‘Snuggie’.
So, when I spotted these Wrawps at my local health foods store I had to have them. But, I was stopped by the price – I think they are something like $8.00 for a pack of three.
Um, hello. I find it ironic that you have to be a doctor to afford health food. I mean, docs can prescribe their own meds. I’m over here with a HMO – gimme the good stuff as an ounce of prevention!!
So, I passed on them the first time. But when I went back there was a nice lady sampling the Wrawps and I tried all three flavors. I liked them!
Finally I exchanged a week’s worth of pay for a few hippie wraps.
These raw vegan flat breads are super healthy because they’re 99% veggies. The ingredients are: zucchini, apple, flax, coconut, sprouted lentils, agave, raisins and cinnamon. And they’re super low calorie too – 60 calories for one big wrap (the other flavor is only 45 calories).
The energizing morning flavor is sweet, so that was obviously my favorite. I slathered some PB&J on top and ate it with breakfast. But when I shared a bite with Ben he said, “I feel sorry for people who have to eat that…” So there’s that.
I made a pizza with the ‘spicy’ flavor for lunch today. I think it came out delicious, but this doesn’t work super well with pizzas because the crust burnt within two minutes under the broiler.
Love: That they’re chewy! That the morning flava is sweet. Expansion! I think they expand in my stomach and make me super full after. (Some might put this in the don’t love category.)
Don’t love: That they cost so much. They’re difficult to actually eat as a wrap since they’re thick.
Question: What would you wrap?
Bonus points if you say a present for me.
i’d probably hold off on baking or broiling them.you are paying for a RAW/unprocessed product..to baking it kinda kills all of the enzymes that you are paying for. Stick with hummus, nut butters, sunflower /almond seed pate, salad, etc…on these babies…and keep them out of the oven…lol..just sayin’
Ha! My husband would have said the same thing that Ben said.
I love using wraps to make sandwich type stuff, but that is a bit steep for my wallet. Maybe when I win the lottery… maybe 🙂
I love your Natalie Dee choice!
I would probably be with Ben
I just started buying the brown rice tortillas instead of whole wheat and I think that that’s as far as I plan to go wrap wise.
I am only going to be able to swing buying three wraps for eight bucks if it is tax deductible….and it’s not. So I will be sticking with my Frontier Wheatberry. I think that about “wraps” it up.
Love me some wraps but $8 for 3? Yikes!
Those are expensive. We can’t get these in Texas so I would have to buy a case of 6 for $42!!! I need to find that rich uncle to support this habit. But I do want to try them, I wish I would have found them when I was there for RnR SD!
I would wrap up peanut butter, strawberries and bananas while singing a song that would annoy my husband!
Laughing at Ben’s remark! I would probably dip it something yummy (guac–that’s vegan, right?)
PS: you’ll never catch $8 wraps in my shopping cart!
Spicy pizza sounds great but I like hummus more
I wouldn’t ever think just by looking at them, that they would taste good. Which is why I read blogs before I spend my money 😉
So thank you… you do deserve a wrapped present. But sorry… those wraps won’t fit into my budget this week.
I love a good turkey, lettuce and tomato with mustard wrap! Just typing that made me hungry for lunch!
Haha doesn’t baking them to make pizza kind of defeat the whole “raw” thing?
I would fill the breakfast-y wrap with almond butter, banana, strawberries, and a bit of granola. Maybe a dollop of Greek yogurt.
Hummus or guacamole with pine nuts with the usual lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber with a dash of flake crushed dry chillies and black pepper.
My husband has been kindly rejecting my vegan leanings (leaning because I’m not remotely strict… I eat bacon….), and I can totally hear him saying what Ben said.
I’d (w)rap like Biggie.
I would do my egg white, spinach, and turkey wraps in them, but only if I can submit the receipt for the wraps to my flexible spending account. That is expensive.
I’m allergic to basically everything that can be made into any sort of bread-type substance. Totally checking these out. Thanks. Tell Ben not to feel sorry for us. We adapt 😉
a whole bunch of lyrics just popped in my head. clearly I’m thinking of the wrong “rap”. i really suck at answering questions…
Ha! Feel free to rap here anytime 😉
That was the “rap” word that popped into my head too!
Holy shiitake! Those are some expensive wraps! I bet someone with a food dehydrator could make those, I however, am not that ambitious nor do I have a food dehydrator!
Me either 🙂
fitnessita probably could. She’s handy with the dehydrater!
Obviously a present for you 🙂
I’d probably wrap up some hummus and tofu, ya know, embrace the vegan. I’m always looking for carby bread/wrap alternatives but that price point is definitely a bit on the high side.
