Hi! How’s it going? Over here it’s going busy because I finally had to call a professional for the ant situation. It’s so weird because they don’t really get into the food in the kitchen. They just want to walk around EVERYWHERE. But when I was in Florida for Thanksgiving the ants moved in and kicked me out. I don’t even want to get into it. Long story short, I had a pro come in and Vegas and I had to get out for the day while they took care of it.
So, Vegas is mad at me for making him go in the cat carrier. The ants are mad at me for killing them. Anyone who has emailed me in the last week is mad at me for not responding. And I’m mad at me because…never mind I’m not mad at me right now. At least I have that going for me?
Let’s talk about running and eating and all the things I’m excited about right now…
1. I thought my latest Cyber Monday Advo order was going to take a long time to arrive since I heard it was a super crazy busy day for them. But I got all my stuff by Friday!! Unfortunately, I was out of town for Shiftcon so I dove into this when I got home.
I’ll let you know when I try the holiday flavors of the protein powders. They’re only available in Nov and Dec so if you’re interested in Pumpkin Spice, the Holiday Variety pack or Gingerbread protein bars get ‘em fast.
The Variety Pack of Spark and the White Chocolate Peppermint Shakes are both sold out. The Holiday Variety Pack does have the Peppermint flavor in it though.
2. Christmas decorations (even though I don’t decorate at home because I’m lazy and Vegas doesn’t help me).
There was a little snafu with my ride home from the airport when I got back from NOLA. So I ended up at my parent’s house for a few hours. My mom isn’t like a super Whoville Christmas obsessed person but she has some pretty nice decorations she brings out every year. This includes Christmas towels and rugs for the bathroom, as I like to have my bathroom well decorated so I can stay there a long time and relax, and that’s why I always also get the best products from Emeraldspa.com so I can enjoy my bath. I have also been saving up for a better glass door for shower. It got me thinking about how much I enjoy having a well-decorated bathroom, especially since I’ve been considering a bathroom renovation Chicago to create a space where I can relax and unwind. Frameless glass shower installation would be a perfect addition to complete the luxurious feel I’m aiming for. Consider getting the service from experts at Premier Builders bathroom renovations which are designed for modern living.
Is this normal?
Then, my dad walked in with a fresh, hot pizza. I’m on the 24 day challenge and trying to eat clean but I was legit hungry so I had half a slice to calm the craving. Hit the spot.
3. I took a new rideshare app to the airport on Friday – See Jane Go. Have you heard of it?
It’s an all-female ride app that has all female drivers and drives female passengers (men can ride if accompanied by a female). I love this idea. I just would feel a lot better about knowing it’s going to be a female driver if it’s late and I’m coming back from a bar or something, ya know? And if I’m traveling or something and don’t know the area very well – it is a great idea.
4. Purse salads. That’s a thing. But I’m pretty sure the girl in the window seat in my aisle thought I was the weirdest person ever. (I might be.)
5. I was invited for drinks with a company at Shiftcon on Friday night. I just got a sparkling water with lime because I’m not drinking right now. But the bartender brought us two plates of candied pecans. Hey, I’m not made of stone. I had to have a few. But I didn’t do beignets or Hurricanes in NOLA so if this was the worst thing I had there, I’d say I did pretty well.
6. This new Trader Joe’s Chocolate Mint Tea made my day. I’m craving chocolate like a crazy person (or normal person during TOM).
7. Watermelon radishes! They are so pretty and light and crispy. I’m a fan.
8. The cool morning weather. It is perfect for running. But I need to bust out some gloves because my hands are so cold on my runs!

My husband and I do a tree, and we out a huge wreath on the barn with a spotlight on it so you see it from the highway. My mom goes really crazeee. She has 6 trees. One is just your regular Christmas tree, and the others all have a theme (angels, music, beach, Americana, and her favorite sports team). She loves Christmas and would leave them up all year if we would let her.

I’ve been hunting for a shake to carry me between a 12:00 lunch and post work run to 8:00 dinner (at which point I am starving) but literally everything my local brick-and-mortar store sells has stevia, which. No. no matter how tiny the amount, I just can’t do it. It looks like Advocare is stevia free though! Are their shakes delicious? I’m hesitant to order a whole can without sampling! Do you know if they retail in Canada? All the questions!
Run Eat Repeat says
Hi Karen, I think they’re delicious but I know protein powder is one of those things that varies from person to person. I would probably add some kind of fat to any protein powder you use if you want it to keep you full that long – either a good scoop of PB or some nuts or hemp seeds.
I would go with my favorite flavor and not necessarily the holiday flavors to be safe if you’re unsure if you’d like them.
If it’s for a meal (versus just post-workout for a quick snack) I do the powder, frozen banana, almond milk (or whatever you like), ice and either a scoop of almond butter or put some sliced almonds on top and eat with a spoon.
Yes, I just read a FAQ recently that said they do ship to Canada. Let me know if you have any other questions…

We decorate ouside and a tree but nothing crazy. Whatever makes you happy, I guess! 🙂
Our mornings have been about 50 degrees which is PERFECT for running, but I always need to start with gloves. My hands get cooooold.
Run Eat Repeat says
Same! My hands get so cold and then it’s hard to start my watch or change my podcasts!
Sara MERTZ says
Here in Ohio we run when it is 25-35, and then we add gloves. If it is above 40, gloves aren’t needed! You adjust to whatever weather you have, we don’ t run if it is icy or below 25 degrees!

I don’t typically decorate the bathroom, but now I totally want to! I have a friend that puts up THREE different Christmas trees. We usually do a tree and a few tabletop/shelf decorations that we’ve collected over the years. I’m still waiting for a friendly elf to magically show up to put lights on the outside of my house…still hasn’t happened.
Run Eat Repeat says
Three trees?! They are dominating Christmas!!
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I only decorate a tree and sometimes a few lighted reindeer appear on my porch but nothing else. I’m low key.
Run Eat Repeat says
I’m extra low low key.

Decorations in all the rooms-even the bathroom
My favorite thing right now is running in NC bc it is finally cool.
Ty for sharing that tea- I don’t want the calories of hot chocolate right now. I’ll pick up some tonight.
Run Eat Repeat says
Yeah, let me know what you think of the tea. I put sweetener and some almond milk and it’s really good.
DebJo says
Curious … what is “cool” to you?
And, what is a watermelon radish? Never heard of them before….
Run Eat Repeat says
Truthfully, it’s cold to me but I know some would just consider it cool. I’d say anything under 64 is cold.
DebJo says
Bahhaaa! We’re at 30-40 right now. As long as there’s no wind, I’m ok with these cooler temps. It’s the wind that kills me….
