Oreo in a Cupcake

I taped the latest Ask a Monican and it will be up tomorrow. IMG_8878 (800x600)

This afternoon I got my hair cut after work. FINALLY! It was looking very scraggly. Plus, I’ve had to trim my own bangs 20 times since my last cut and the hairdresser said something about the last person doing a horrible job. Fantastic.IMG_8885 (800x600)

Since it was Ben’s birthday we went out for dinner to celebrate. Between the donuts this morning and his gift this birthday is pretty nice if I do say so myself. someecard birthday

We went to our favorite local Thai place and he started with a Thai Tea with Boba.IMG_8887 (600x800)

And we shared the garden salad because the peanut dressing alone justifies the price tag. IMG_8890 (800x600)

They totally give you a bucket of it too! We leave that sucker bone dry.IMG_8892 (800x600)

We shared the eggplant with chicken, brown rice and pad se ew (no pic). Everything was amazing as usual.IMG_8895 (800x600)IMG_8898 (800x600)

Then, I ran home to get to the cupcakes! I confessed earlier that I couldn’t wait and ended up cutting one of them open! I am weak and happy.two cupcakes

The Black and White Cupcake has a whole Oreo inside!!! oreo cupcakeWell, it did have a whole Oreo when I was taking this picture. Now that cookie is resting safely in my belly.IMG_8900 (800x533)

I want to shake the hand of whoever decided 2 inches of frosting was needed on a cupcake. i will eat you

Okay, I’ve got to pay attention to the birthday boy. happy day ben

See ya later!

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

Such a good idea 😀 I’ve seen Oreo’s on cupcakes before as decoration [aka Cookie Monster] but never stuffed inside! P.S. Totes agree with ya on the icing factor- the more, the merrier!

I’m the same way, Monica – I prefer a 3-1 ratio of frosting to cupcake/cake.

That cupcakes looks amazing! I love stuffing my cupcakes. Some of my variations have been cookie dough, mini peanut butter cups (OMG good!), lemon curd, marshmallows (not good, probably use the creme next time). So fun.

I had my hair cut yesterday and told my stylist that my bangs were a mess because, since I’d last seen her, I stopped into some $10 haircut place to have them trimmed. She took one look at my bangs and said “Sister, next time just get a damn bobby pin.” Duly noted. Then she informed me she does bang trims for free. Doh!
