Walking Around Healdsburg

Hello from the sky! I’m blogging on a plane going back home to Orange County right now. This was a quick turnaround trip, but I’m looking forward to my own bed tonight Smile

This trip wasn’t really for pleasure so I spent most of the morning working on blog and writing stuff. Around 12:30 I decided to grab lunch. I went back to Big John’s Market for their salad bar. I was really hoping they would have carrot soufflé again, but they didn’t.big john's market healdsburg

Today was Chinese food day at the hot bar and I got a little of everything. Salad bars make me happy.IMG_2427 (800x600)

It was a solo mission so I ate outside. It’s a really pretty day, just a little crisp for my taste.IMG_2430 (600x800)

I was excited to see the Seasonal Cliff Bars at the market! My Whole Foods didn’t have these on my last visit. I used to eat a Clif Bar before my long runs every time! I prefer PB&J toast now, but still enjoy these occasionally.IMG_2431 (600x800)

The hotel had complimentary cookies in the lobby so I grabbed one at check out. This was thick and chewy, but not the perfect cookie. My search continue. Bonus points for being free though Winking smileIMG_2434 (600x800)

Then, I spent some time wandering around Healdsburg’s downtown area.IMG_2437 (600x800)

There is a cute path just beside the downtown area.IMG_2440 (800x600)

I like to guess the name of an art piece before I read the real name. I call this one – “Shoelaces after a long run”shoelace art

The walk was nice, but my lips feel super chapped from the cold dry air. IMG_2452 (600x800)

Ben and I regrouped and headed back to San Francisco around 4pm. It’s over an hour drive plus we had to return the rental car. I was sad we didn’t have time for more wine tasting!

It was fun to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge! It’s not the same as running across though.derving across golden gate bridge

Check in and security was quick and pain less. But by this time I was Hungry! I walked by all the options and decided on more Chinese food (it is my favorite!). This is veggies and tofu with brown rice. There were only two pieces of tofu in that pile, but they did have acorn squash in the mix so I say it evens out.IMG_2481 (800x600)

The Mexican place where Ben got his dinner had a chipotle sauce that tasted a lot like peanut sauce so I added it to my meal!IMG_2483 (800x600)

I picked up dessert from the Ghirardelli stand. Now my life night is complete. IMG_2488 (800x600)

Tragic tidbit of the day: I found this movie ticket from 2008 in one of my bags! old movie ticket

Open Letter to my fellow airplane passengers: If you are playing a phone game in which you must jerk your hand back and forth vigorously on a dark plane I might judge you for a while before I figure out what is going on. IfYaKnowWhatIMean… IMG_2496 (800x600)

See you back home Smile

okay Monica, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been looking for the “perfect” cookie recipe forever. Nate (my bf) loves cookies out of the oven and then won’t eat them because they’re too “hard”. Well, I finally found it! It’s How Sweet Eats Giant M&M’s cookies recipe. You can find it on her blog. I won’t link because I don’t know if you like links or not. Anyway, I just use chocolate chips and after 2 and a half years of searching, I have found the best recipe!

You will have to let me know if you try it 🙂

The only bad cookie is the cookie you don’t have, plus I’m pretty sure those cookies are the “pink cookie for the cause”, so that gets them extra points 🙂
I loved San Francisco! The hubs and I went over the summer. I loved the bread bowl at Boudin (I saw you had one too!). It was such a great place to walk around. Have you been wine tasting in Napa? We took an all day tour that picked up at the Ferry Building, it was amazing.

Ben and I went wine tasting in Napa a while back. We weren’t big wine-os at the time so I don’t think we appreciated it that much though.

Chocolate with sea salt and almonds? How has this escaped me? I now have a mission. 🙂

LOL. On the phone game on airplane comment! Love how you named the sculpture. Good call. And no fair, you got Holiday Clif bars. My grocer is just not carry them, but they do carry every other bar on the face of this earth! Go figure.
