5 Tips To Reach Your Goals in 2015 and a Giveaway!

Hello! Happy Friday. How was your week?

I’m currently sipping some tea being all reflective and whatnot about my goals. I’ve teamed up with Lorna Jane to share a giveaway of their Move Nourish Believe Diary and they sent me one to use.

lorna jane journal (600x800)

It’s funny that this reminded me I used to totally have a diary as a little girl. And Run Eat Repeat is a diary – hello, web-log = blog = public diary of sorts!

sad book

So, I guess I never stopped keeping one? Can’t stop. Won’t stop.

The LJ diary is intended to help you plan and keep track of your year. It has calendars for each month, fitness challenges, healthy living tips and more. I really like that it looks so sweet and cute – like a girly book and not school schedule or business calendar.

I love a good goal (I’m super ‘into’ New Year’s Resolutions and actually love Mondays!). So, I’m excited to make a plan and get ready to attack ‘em! I wanted to share some of my tips on staying on track to reach your goals.

5 Tips To Reach Your Goals:

1. Identify a specific goal. Write it down. Take a picture. Record it.

2. Set a date to reach the goal. Add in check-ins dates for milestones to keep you on track and moving forward.

3. Make a plan. Write down what you need to do / learn / change to get your goal.

4. Tell someone. Get help on this in a way that motivates you. Tell a friend that can help keep you accountable. Make a bet. Join a team. Put yourself out there as needed.

5. Gooooooo! Go after it full force and keep the momentum up by checking in with yourself on your progress at the end of each week.

The lovely people at Lorna Jane also sent me a new outfit that matches my journal. I guess I should take it with me whenever I wear this Winking smile

I like the back on this tank, but I think my sportsbra kinda ruins it.

I can’t bring sexy back because I lost the receipt.

My goal is to learn how to get in touch with my body through eating intuitively and living my life. For years, my main focus has been food and dieting, but Ive decided to enjoy each day regardless of the food I consume. Eat to live, not live to eat I believe the saying goes.

My new goal for 2015–as I turn the big 3-0– is to focus on the positive and happy things in life! I’m such a perfectionist and always think about the negative or how things should/could be better. I need to take a step back and appreciate life and all the good things! It’s difficult to do that!

I was a hard core journal-er until my ex husband broke into my locked room & tore it apart until he found my journal hiding place & read them.
Journaling helped me survive bad times by giving me an outlet for the bad stuff, but also helped me immortalize the awesome things as well!
I’d love to start again & this pretty one calls to me!

My current goal has to do with my pregnancy. I’m currently pregnant with my third child – in my 5th month and want to stay active during this pregnancy. With my first child I was not active; with my second, dropped activity completely as soon as I received that positive test. I am enjoying my workouts so far and very happy and surprised at how strong I still am with my strength workouts. I would like to be one of those moms that workouts up until the day I have my little bundle.

As long as I keep things steady, celebrate my progress along the way, acknowledge my opportunities to improve, and be present everyday…let’s just say your girl is about to shut 2015 down!!

I *used* to be able to run a 5k without stopping to walk no problem, but somewhere along the way of rehabbing a knee injury and switching to long slow miles for marathon training (my first last September at Ventura…and yes I saw you speed past me going the opposite direction with all the fast runners…almost had a “celebrity sighting” moment freak-out, but then refrained myself because I needed all the energy I had to just keep going! hahaha) I stopped being able to run that 5k without walking. So this year is the year I get back to that, and I’m hoping that in the process I can bring my time down to 30 minutes or less. 🙂

My goal is to feel a little more balanced with everything I have going on and start to embrace my new life as a mom rather than being stressed by it! Take it as it comes and take one day at a time.

Always have goals! I have a few right now, most of them are fitness related with mini goals in between. One of them is to be able to do a pull up by May (when I’m running the Tough Mudder!)

My goal is to run a marathon before I turn 40 (which is October 15th). AND because it’s such a big occasion I’ve convinced my husband that I should go somewhere fun/far to do this so I picked the Long Beach Marathon…based solely on the fact that it’s a) far from the Midwest and b) you’ve talked about it being one of the best. 🙂

My long term goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon, but I’ve got a ways to go and it seems unlikely it will happen this year. So in 2015 my goal is to hold BQ pace for a half marathon. Must have patience!

My goal is to get back into the healthy lifestyle that I have let go since transferring to a 4 year university! It’s so tough to balance school with healthy living but I know it is something I want to start doing.

My goal is to get healthy and drop some extra weight too. I want to be an example to my autistic teen. To show her she can do anything she sets her mind to.
