Banana Diet

What Runners Eat

30 Jan

Hello! How’s it going?

This morning I had a banana with peanut butter before my run.

Then, I had another one later in the day so I feel like I’m on the banana diet! I definitely do eat a lot of bananas the week leading up to the race. I need the potassium to help avoid cramps during the race – something that used to happen every time!

Don’t be scared of the banana diet. It’s good!

Actually, I kinda want another banana right now – but that just might be because I want more peanut butter…

if someone says you eat too much peanut butter

I dressed like a ginja ninja for my run so I thought I’d try to bust out my ninja moves and proceed to scream “HI-YA!!!”. I’m sure my neighbors appreciated that.

I had all the eggs for breakfast. And a pretty delicious salad for lunch with a few handfuls of rice crackers.

Then, I headed to Huntington Beach for the marathon expo.

I spotted my favorite companies at the expo – Sporthooks has these super cute danglers. My favorite state and favorite distance!

ProCompression was in the house too. Don’t forget my 40% off discount ends tomorrow!! Use code RER

And I made a friend!

I had a lil snack on the way there too. Quest Bars are my favorite.

I am so far behind, so I am working on catching up. I have been on a protein kick…give me all the nuts and cheese.

I LOVE mixing honey in with my PB and then dipping my banana in it. It’s delicious! I’d have to say that one of my other favorite snacks is blueberries. I can’t get enough of those little guys!

This week I ate a lot of rice … I pretty much had rice every day. I might need to address that problem next week.

I couldn’t stand bananas but I have forced myself to eat them especially when I started doing half-marathons. I am slowly starting to improve my diet in hopes my marathon time will get better though! Then I have a unsettling desire to attempt a full this year. Hope your run was good!

I love your banana-smiley! I recently became re-obsessed with bananas too – I let them get reallllly ripe which everyone thinks is gross haha. They are so good in greek yogurt sweetened with stevia, as a side to oatmeal – take a spoonful of that, then dip in some yogurt and banana round ooooo so good!
