Hello and Good Day 🙂
I started my Friday with a little 5K action walk with Susan. We ran about 2 miles, but decided we would rather chat than run and walked the last mile. It was good to catch up on our week and our guys.
Today is French Toast Friday! Did you celebrate?
I dipped two pieces of bread in a mix of: egg beaters, chia seeds and cinnamon. Then, I cooked it up and topped it with Almond Butter and syrup. This is an amazing way to start the weekend.
After breakfast my mom and I took the dogs for a walk. They were exhausted after and immediately plopped down when we got home. But you know they’ll be begging for another walk later today!
I made breakfast for my little brother, Matt too. Instead of French Toast I made him a PB&J Pita. Whole wheat pita topped with PB&J and topped with banana slices.
I love how it looks like a pizza. This is a great meal for kids, but I like it too.
I have Fridays off so I’m hoping to get caught up on blog stuff and run a ton of errands today.
We get the keys to our tiny condo Monday, but I’m not sure what time. So, I’m basically moving Monday or Tuesday depending on that detail.
The reliable movers similar to these Winston Salem moving companies delivered our stuff to my mom’s yesterday and we’ll have to haul it to our new place and get furniture at some point next week.
I am more than ready to get this move OVER. We have been in limbo for a month now and really just want to get settled in and comfy.
Thanks for the feedback on the new blog layout. I actually didn’t intend to make the switch until I figured out how to customize it, but my host went ahead and changed it over night! When I woke up this morning and saw comments on the new layout on my phone I raced to the computer to see what the heck it looked like!
Luckily, Zestycook saved the day and helped me at least add in my header and change the column widths. I still have more changes on the way, but it’s going to take some trial and error to fix it. Hopefully it won’t be too painful, but if you’re good with this stuff please let me know 🙂
Poll of the day: I’ve always wanted to dye my hair blond. My brother’s girlfriend can do it for me (for free). Should I go for it or not?

I opine that to get the personal loans from creditors you must have a good reason. However, once I’ve got a secured loan, just because I wanted to buy a building.

wow u look like a giant

I’m a blonde and I’m always wanting to dye my hair red, lol. Maybe you could try a temporary color that would wash out in case you don’t like it? I think a strawberry blonde color would look great on you! Good luck with the decision 🙂

I’m all for natural beauty which you are…red hair so so pretty!

I love the layout! So simple and clean! I hear it’s easier to go darker!!

Ahh, the waiting in limbo – just what I happen to be doing at the moment. Can’t take my CPT test yet, can’t move into my new place yet… just waiting. Drives you nuts, right? At least it’s almost over for you!
I know what being a red-haired Mexican has meant to you, so I’d think carefully about dyeing your hair. Just as a random fun thing it might be kind of cool, but I hope you’re not doing it because of any deep-seated insecurities or wishes to be different than you actually are.
If you’re sure that this isn’t the case, then take the plunge! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about holding back from doing things because I’m scared they might not work out right, but what kind of a way to live is that? If you sprout a wild (blonde) hair every now and then, I say follow its lead!

go for the blonde! I dyed my hair blonde once, and it is a lot of upkeep, but if you have someone who can dye it for free you’re all set.

Hey Monica! I’m new to your blog and I love it! You’re so funny and honest about everything! 🙂 I love your red hair! But like some of the other posters said, if you want to do it I would do highlights too! Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Being a fellow red head, I see where your desire to dye your hair comes from because I always wanted something other than what I had. Everyone told me not to, but I streaked my hair black when I was younger. It took forever to grow out and it made me appreciate my red hair more for some reason. Also, I never got why people told me not to dye my hair until I saw Lindsay Lohan and Laura Preppon (from that 70s show) go from red to blonde and I understood. However, I think if it something you want to do, you definitely should no matter what people think and it will go back to red eventually 🙂

Your hair is so beautiful just the way it is!
Susan Hernnadez says
DO IT! You have been saying you wanted to dye it forever.
Melissa @ TryingToHeal says
i think a change of look is fun, especially hair! i’ve done it…green? blue? purple? pink? blond? 😀
Kim says
I usually lurk and not comment, but I felt like I had to chime in on this one:
You have gorgeous hair! Red hair is so rare, and so beautiful, so my inner voice says ‘NO, DON’T DO IT.’
But, sometimes it can be really inspiring to change your look. If you do do it, make sure that she uses a drabber, because blonde dye on red hair (or brown hair with red undertones) can leave your hair more orange than yellow (I’ve been there).

I love your hair. In fact, I have always wanted to be a redhead. But if it’s something you really want to do, you should go for it. If you don’t like it, it won’t be forever. Not sure about the highlights, but some folks seem to think that’s the way to go….

Love the layout.
I must admit that I’m in the NO category in regards to going blonde. You have GORGEOUS red hair. Really, it’s very beautiful.
But, if you want to take a hair risk, then go for it. You can always go back to red. I really like the idea of just adding blonde highlights. That’ll give you a taste of being blonde, without out the dreaded upkeep.
Amber K says
Going blonde was the worst thing I did for me. It actually worked really well with my skin tone, but the upkeep was way more than I cared for. And growing it out took forever once I decided I didn’t like it anymore!
But hair is such a personal choice!
The french toast looks yummy. I actually had some for breakfast yesterday, but I hate how unfilling it is. So tasty, and yet just couldn’t stop snacking afterwards!

Had to click over and check out the new layout. It looks good!
If you’ve always wanted to dye your hair blond, I’d say go for it, especially if you can get someone to do it for free (it’s so expensive). It’s just hair, it’s fun to try out different things. Although I’d agree that your natural hair color is really pretty as is!
Stephanie S. says
Don’t do it! Your hair is gorgeous. Plus, once you start dying your hair it takes a loooong time to stop.
Dynamics says
It is too much work. The roots will be red and the rest blonde. I like Maren’s idea. Why not start with blonde highlights. It would look beautiful.
Erin says
Maybe I’ll celebrate for dinner — that looks good! 😀
Jory @ Exploring Ordinary says
Don’t change your hair! Natural red-heads are pretty uncommon and I’ve always been jealous. At the same time, it’s true that it’s only hair and you can change it back. That being said, I’ve done highlights AND dyed my hair for years and I’m pretty happy that it’s finally going back to the natural color.
Maren says
I am a blonde fanatic! I have bleach blonde hair and I absolutely love it!!! buuuuuut at the same time, Monica, I think your hair is absolutely beautiful!! buuut again… if you have always wanted to try it, why not?! My only recommendation is don’t dye all of it. Do highlights of blonde! I have a feeling if you do it, you’re going to start liking to wear pink even more! 🙂 Hope you have a productive Friday!
Courtney says
Although you have pretty awesome hair as it is, I would vote why not go blond? Its only hair, and you might as well try it out while youre still young and flying by the seat if your pants!! Then you can write a blog post and let us know if you really have more fun or not!!
Kirsten says
Personally, I don’t think there’s any reason not to do ANYTHING that you’ve “always wanted to do”, as long as it isn’t going to harm anybody! Go for it, it’s just hair!
Erika @ Food, Fitness, & Fun says
Well, this probably doesn’t mean much but here’s my 2-cents:
I don’t think you should dye your hair. You are a red-head 🙂 I think that is such a beautiful hair color!
Evan Thomas says
I don’t have a good opinion on going blonde, but I think the new layout looks very fresh!
