This morning I assembled a delicious yogurt bowl for breakfast.
In the mix: pumpkin (which I warm up in the microwave), yogurt, stevia, pumpkin pie spice, chia seeds and cereals.
After taking pictures, I mix it all up and dig in! There is a reason it’s called a yogurt mess. It looks gross, but tastes delicious.
After mixing I went put some coffee in my to-go cup and Ben took a big bite of my breakfast. He was very unpleasantly surprised by the taste. For some reason he thought I was eating broccoli cheese soup for breakfast! He said his brain couldn’t process the idea of cheese soup while actually tasting pumpkin yogurt fast enough. Ha!
I have been feeling a little bit of a scratchy throat and wanted to scare it away with a veggie juice. Hopefully, this immunity juice will do the trick!
When I got home I threw together an easy lunch – tomato soup and open faced grilled cheese 🙂 And a handful of chocolate chips for dessert.

I would love some free subway.
My go to sammy is veggie delite with all the veggies (-pickles and olives) and mustard and a bit of sweet onion. Unless I am feeling wild and get that new buffalo sauce which is spicy enough to make even me tear up… and that is saying a lot.
Diana says
I love Subway so much, and I’d love to try the new egg sandwiches they’ve got now!
ashleigh says
I love subway 🙂 You really can’t beat a $3 lunch!
Liz23 says
Yes please! I love Subway and they actually have several Subways here on this lovely little island (the big island of hawaii). They don’t have a lot of restaurants/fast food places here. =( Which I guess is good for my waist line! But I miss me some Wendy’s and Sonic and my local Mexican Food joints!

I had yogurt with pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice and nuts, I thought it was ok but when he tasted it he thought it was the nastiest thing he’d ever tasted. He continued to give me the eye because he couldn’t get the taste out of his mouth lol!!

Laurel says
Free subs, please!
Lia says
Oddly enough I never understood the mixed-up yogurt mess idea. I make yogurt bowls and then don’t mix them, except in my mouth and tummy. Someday I’m going to have to try and mix and see what happens…
Luckily with sandwiches you don’t have that problem!
Natalie says
I like sandwiches for lunch because everyone can get exactly what they want!!!
Tobi says
We love subway!! My kids even choose it over any other “fast food”!
Becky says
I go to Subway almost every Friday for lunch. It’s the one day I don’t have to pack it up. Subway on the house would make that Friday tradition a little more fun!
Amy says
um-yes please!
Courtney (Pancakes & Postcards) says
yes. yes. yes. perhaps now that i try to be “healthy” i should stop indulging myself with the spicy italian five dollar footlong…
…or maybe not. life’s too short.
beth says
I do! Being a tuna lover yourself, I think we should protest for a lighter version with lowfat mayo 🙂 I thought of you last week at a work conference when i was posed with the choice of chicken breast or tuna. Chicken was healthier but I knew I would regret not getting the tuna so I did! You are teaching me that 🙂
Sarah E. says

Kendra says
LOL, poor Ben quite the shock he must have felt! LOL
Heather says
Do you use any sweetener when you eat pumpkin straight like that? I always find it too bitter without. But, then again, I’m a sugar-aholic. Maybe that’s the problem…..hmmm… 🙂
Great giveaway!
runeatrepeat says
I totally sweeten it if I’m using plain yogurt. Sometimes if I use vanilla or honey I can go without or use less, but I’m not a fan of the straight up pumpkin.
jpeornto says

Subway is an on-the-go fave although sometimes the employees get confused when I say I want all of the vegetables: ‘Do you want lettuce? Do you want cucumbers?’ Yes, ALL of them! 😉
dynamics says
Free is ALWAYS good.
Laura says
I love Subway! For your commit to fit challenge I have come up with a few things: (1) Stop eating out so much. Lately we have been eating out 3-4 times a week because I have been too busy too cook, which is setting us back $$ wise. Now, I will cook 5 meals a week, one day for leftovers, and the other my husband and I will go out somewhere tasty but healthy. Love Panera and Chipotle!! (2) Work out for at least 30 minutes a day. I never work out and I think my body hates me for it. No matter how much I sleep, I am still exhausted. I would love to receive the gift card! Healthier opportunity to eat out! =]
Sarah says
I would Love me some free sammies!

Kristabel says
I love Subway! So of course I want some free food from there! I work and go to school full time. That means that sometimes I have to eat out I tend to head there. It’s a nice healthy alternative to other fast foods. Which really helps, since I am training for my first half marathon coming up in November!
Also, I never thought about mixing up all my ingrediants when I make a yougurt bowl. Have to try it!
Kellie says
I’m afraid I am going to turn orange from all the canned pumpkin I am eating lately. We are having tomato soup tonight for dinner. This weather is crazy here in socal! My family loves Subway, I get a bunch of $5 foot longs and can feed everyone for cheap.

Pumpkin+yogurt mess = my favorite part of fall. But my fiance is always “surprised” by the flavor too.
Kailey (SnackFace) says
OK, I know I am two (?) days late now, but I wanted to say CONGRATS on the marathon. I don’t really know what it’s like to be a runner with such experience and PRs and goals, but I do know that as one who isn’t a runner, I am DAMN IMPRESSED by your marathon time! Girlfriend, if I ever do a marathon, I am walking/strutting/dancing that thing, cocktail and snacks in hand. I’m not even kidding. I don’t care if it takes me all day!
Anyway, that’s my long-winded way of saying: you’s a boss. 😉
Beth says
Broccoli cheddar soup sounds delicious, but not exactly standard breakfast food…
And I <3 Subway.

Jen says
Apparently the boy grew up with some song (Raffi maybe?) that goes: “Sandwiches are beautiful / Sandwiches are fine / I like sandwiches / I eat them all the time…” and it gets stuck in my head. How crazy is it that you can have a song stuck in your head that you’ve never heard? And that, Monica, is your daily wtf. 😛
Lily @ Rabbit Food Runner says
That’s really funny Ben thought you were eating broccoli cheddar soup for breakfast!
I love Subway, its the easiest (healthy/filling) vegetarian fast food 🙂
runeatrepeat says
I know. I was like, “When would I ever eat broccoli cheese soup for breakfast?! Do you even know me?”
