Run Eat Repeat

Ready For Halloween?

Are you ready for Halloween?

I’m not. I have no idea what I’m going to be or how much candy I’m going to eat.

My little brother won a contest at school today for his costume – a Chilean Miner.

I told him to tell the ladies, “I’d like to take you out for a drink. But I can’t, ‘cause I’m a miner.”

He didn’t get it.

Those who are making ninja costumes for Halloween may consider ordering a wakizashi sword online.

Matt the minor

A few years ago he was Michael Phelps. The best Halloween costumes are based on current events. You can read that Halloween post from 2008 here.

This morning I did a quick 3 mile run before a conference call with Jared! Yes, the real Jared!  How cool is that?!?! I’ll post about it later.IMG_2811

Breakfast was an egg scramble. It started with leeks, mushrooms and spinach…IMG_2821

and then was rolled in a burrito with laughing cow, ketchup and hot sauce. “Put some hot sauce on my burrito baybeeeeee!” IMG_2825 Side of apple.  IMG_2823

I’m rocking the jeggings today. I was afraid to try this trend since I realize tight and tapered pants make my butt look bigger don’t compliment my build. Ignore the cords on the floor we’re still “remodeling” our new place.IMG_2828

But, they are so comfortable I don’t care!

IMG_2829

Now I have a huge To Do list to get through I’ll see ya later.
someecards.com - In the interest of fighting the childhood obesity epidemic, I've decided to eat all the Halloween candy I bought

Question: Are you giving out candy on Halloween? If so, what kind? And can I come over??

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

I left candy buying up to my husband since I’m gone this weekend and he informs me that he bought two jumbo bags of the good stuff–Reese’s, Almond Joys, Milky Ways, Snickers…heaven help me. I’m usually pretty good about portioning out the remainder–one small piece in my lunch box each day and that’s it.

BTW, I hope this isn’t creepy, but you are gorgeous. I know that as women we looove to cut each other down, but for the record–I think you’re beautiful!

Thank you. I’ve actually been having a lot of bad self image days lately. I needed that 🙂

We aren’t passing out candy this year because we never get any trick-or-treaters 🙁 If I were I think I would give out Reeses, Snickers, and Butterfingers…those were always my favorite when I was a kid!

Your little brother is just the cutest! I’m immature, I’m still laughing at that “miner” line that you told your brother to use on the ladies!

Looking forward to your post on that conf call with Jared!

Your little brother is so cute! Good job!

I wish I could wear jeggings (sometimes)… stuff like that makes me look like an apple on a tooth pic. You, however, look awesome in your jeggings!

That costume is AMAZING! (The miner) I am cracking up. Too cute.

You look awesome in jeggings. Where’d you get them? I can’t find them anywhere! (or I’m not looking hard enough.)

Your little brother is adorable! I love the miner outfit and the joke. I laughed out loud and then had to try and explain it to my 8 year old.

We have milky way and three muskateers to give out, but for the most part, we’ll be out trick or treating, so I suppose we’ll have a bunch left over. I guess I’ll have to do my part and eat a few of the milky ways. I’m not a huge Halloween person and I haven’t dressed up in oh, about 22 years (!) but my daughter gets a kick out of it and I do like to raid her candy stash. That’s the perk of parenthood: eating the good stuff while your kid is asleep.

I love your brothers costumes! Such great ideas!!!

I think you look great in the jeggings! I have some hefty thighs for a short girl and shied away from skinny jeans and leggings for awhile, but I finally gave in and I love wearing them. Whos cares if they show off my thighs a little too much? Nothing is going to make them go away, I might as well get used to it and wear what I want!

I’m the SAME way with leggings. I love how comfortable they are. Screw the fact that they don’t make my muscular legs and butt look awesome. haha.

i don’t kno wwhat i’m being for halloween yet either, don’t feel bad. i’ve narrowed it down to a cowgirl and a witch. not current events, but all my wardrobe is workin’ with 🙂

Monica-you rock those jeggings! I used to think skinnys were only for super long-legged skinny girls, but I like seeing my muscles in them! Where did you find yours?! they are so cute!

Love the jeggings! They look great on you! Any recommendations for good comfy jeggings? The only ones I’ve tried are very stiff and NOT comfortable at all!

Love the miner/minor joke! It took me a second to figure it out…yes I’m blonde! 😛

I am still too chicken/cynical to try out the leggings, unless they are under something – like skirts in the middle of a WI January. Props to you for rocking them and their comfort!

I don’t think we will be giving out Halloween candy, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a stock pile of it – just in case there is an apocolypse and that is our only food source…you never know!

I’m giving out candy! But I haven’t gotten to in years (for various reasons), so I’m not quite sure what kind yet. Any suggestions?!
