This morning Ben and I did a 20 minute run/walk for his 3rd week of Couch to 5K. For my new readers – my husband Ben, recently decided he wants to start running. I guess watching me run 3 marathons and a bunch of half marathons has finally rubbed off on him!
So, I’m coaching him to the 5K finish line!
We recently got a coupon in the mail for a free scone from our favorite local bakery. Even though I admitted my carboholism last night, I could not turn down a free scone. Ben got a Bacon Cheddar Scone and I got a Banana Nut.
In my defense I haven’t been to this bakery since October!
I paired it with some eggs in hopes that the protein will help prevent a post scone sugar binge * The reason I even mentioned eating tons of carbs yesterday is because I can feel the difference since I’ve been eating more protein. Yesterday’s carb loading didn’t feel good and I can tell that my body is doing better with more protein and fat. Free scone aside, I’m getting back on the Pro-tein bandwagon asap!
The banana nut scone was just okay. I don’t think I like nuts in my muffin scone (TWSS?).
Normally I think of scones as very dry, but the ones from this bakery are moist and very muffin-like.
