Monica from Run Eat Repeat talks about:
- Getting pimples from a running hat.
- Stopping your Garmin for walking breaks, pee stops and short naps under a shady tree.
- What’s up with you mom and dad getting married?!?!

I’m a new reader and I love your blog so far! Families really do come in all forms and I for one do not believe there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to do things… as long as everyone is happy 🙂 Congrats to your mom and dad, and thanks for your honesty and willingness to share this story.

I think it is so cool that your mom and dad is only getting married now. Now that they have worked through everything and are ready. It is SO important to be ready for marraige or having children because it is big steps one take in life and it need to be right from the beginning.
So I respect your parents more for doing it this way than just getting married because they had children and then perhaps fallen into the divorce group.
So well done to them.

I am not sure I have left a comment before (yeah, not sure where my brain went). Anywho, I just wanted to say how cool it is that your parents getting married. Personally, I don’t think there is one “right” path to follow & everyone dances to their own beat.
I also kind of love your parents story, because we are at an age where we see parents getting divorced, so very great for it to be a time where your parents are getting married.

That was cute! I never wash my hats at all. And it was a nice reminder to take a damn shower after exercising– I usually get distracted and stay sweaty for hours! Yuck!
Thanks for sharing about your parents. Love comes in all sorts of packages, so good for them!

Random, but your makeup looks beautiful. What products do you use?
runeatrepeat says
I use a bunch of different brands for loose powder, eye shadow and mascara. Is there a specific one you liked? I can check the name if you want 🙂
Sarah says
Your skin just looks flawless. Very ‘effortlessly beautiful’ what kind of powder, blush and eye shadow do you use?

Love your vlog! You are very good at speaking like that (not as easy as it looks!!). I was mesmerized by your perfect teeth…they are amazing! Did you have braces? I guess I’m kind of fixated on teeth because I am currently sporting the metal mouth with about 6 months to go (yes I’m a grown up).
runeatrepeat says
Yes I had braces as a teen 🙂

I was just browsing the comments and thought I’d chime in on this question!
Personally, this happens to me a LOT. I’m on my third marathon training cycle so I sort of expect it. I think it’s totally normal and as long as it isn’t painful for you, I would try and not worry about it. The only thing that helps me is keeping my toenails super groomed and making sure to file/shape/trim them a lot. It just happens because your toes are getting pressed up against the toe box of the shoe, especially if you run on hills a lot (the down hills make your toes press into the front of the shoe). Also, if it’s happening a TON, check if your shoes fit right. If they are too small, your toes will constantly be pressed up, and if your shoes are too big, then it’s room for your feet to slide forward a lot. If you notice you’re losing a toenail, DON’T mess with it!! I find that it’s rarely painful unless you start messing with it – I did that once and it became majorly infected and gross, and I could barely get my sneakers on for a week.
And if all else fails, you can still put polish over the skin/area (again, gross, I know) and no one will know the difference when you wear sandals 🙂

Thanks D. It doesn’t cause any problems and only happened twice so far. I can live with gross toe nails as long as it doesn’t affect my running which it doesn’t. Feels good not being the only one with dodgy toe nails. XXX
Bea says
I love your blog and your Ask a Monican series a lot. The information is and has always been very useful to me.
I remember a while back you were writing about losing a toe nail (please correct me if this is wrong) or at least some toe issue related to running. Now I have increased my running significantly in the past 3 months or so and in that time I have had to say bye bye to 2 or my toe nails (my second toe is longer than my big toe on both feet….maybe that’s why they are getting more of a beating while running so I lost them). Is there a reason for that happening? It wasn’t painful as a new one grew underneath the old one before it fell off but it’s not very pretty.
Sorry for this gross question. I am happy to sacrifice toe nails for possibly running a marathon next year but I’d rather keep them if there is a way.
