Halo Visor

5 May

I bought a new visor from the Race Expo this weekend. It is a Halo Visor. dscn8438

From the Halo Website:

Halo Headbands are technically designed to keep sweat and sunscreen out of your eyes and off your glasses while training, working out, racing, or just working hard. Every Halo Headband includes our soft and comfortable Sweat Block Technology. This exclusive water-tight seal redirects sweat away from your face.

See the yellow strip? That blocks the sweat from dripping down and diverts it to the sides of your head. dscn8436

Review:

I tried it on my 5 miler this morning and it worked. I didn’t get any sweat in my eyes. But, I didn’t pay attention to any sweat dripping down the sides of my face or near my ears. The yellow band is supposed to direct your sweat away from your forehead to the sides of your head. I imagine this could bug a little bit if it’s dripping a lot, but it would be a lot better than sweat in your eyes.

I think this is a great product, especially when you remember to wear sunblock (!) on a run. If you’ve ever gotten sweaty sunblock in your eyes during a run you would appreciate a Halo visor/hat/headband.

I wear visors on all of my outside runs to block the sun and to stop sweat from getting into my eyes so this visor is perfect for me.

I think they are reasonably priced compared to most running gear. I got mine for $20.00 plus tax at the expo, which is pretty standard for visors.

I’ve used the Halo Race Visor for several years now and love it! No sweat rolling into my eyes. After a couple years of use, the yellow sweatband inside did start to crack (in two places now), but it still works very well. It was well worth the price and I’m looking for a new one now.
