Run Eat Repeat

Take a breath

I’m typing this post in the plane on the way to Atlanta for a layover before I finally make it to NJ.

This morning was crazy, but that’s pretty much the theme of my life right now.

I tried to accomplish as much as I could before going out of town, but still wasn’t able to do it all.

As I was running this morning, I thought “I just feel like I can’t breath.” And that wasn’t because I was running. I just have so many things going on right now I am constantly overwhelmed and stressing. This does not help me to eat healthy and take care of myself. Ironically, that adds more stress to the pile.

I am not trying to have a pity party, everything I have going on right now is AMAZING and for the first time in my life I feel that I’m where I want to be. I’m excited and grateful for everything. The only negative is I am spread way too thin right now and I’m afraid I’m not giving my best effort to any one thing.

I apologize that my busy life is taking away from the blog right now. I really do want to be a good little blogger. I love reading comments and emails from people who “get me”. I feel like I really put myself out there in writing this blog and often the things I write about myself can be embarrassing or frustrating for me, but R.E.R. really helps me and I hope it helps you guys to read about my ups and downs while learning about Intuitive Eating.

On to the food!

I ran 6.5 miles this morning and went up and down the one nearby hill 5 times 🙂 I wanted to make sure I was tired out since I am going to be sitting on a plane for hours and hours today!

DSCN9623Breakfast was on the road, luckily my brother drove me to the airport so I was able to eat in the car. I made a big bowl of oats since I figured I would miss it when I’m gone. I made the same combo as usual: oats, almond milk, whole banana, cinnamon, brown sugar and almond butter on top.

DSCN9624 I guess I was very shook up from rushing around all morning because when I went to take the picture I dropped my camera in the oats. Seriously. Can you see the dent?

My flight left at 10am and I’ll be getting to Atlanta at 5:30pm. Then, I leave for NJ at 7-something pm. I packed a lunch for this flight and will try to get on the east coast time schedule so my eating isn’t too off by eating something light when I get to NJ at 9:30pm as a late dinner.

DSCN9627Travel Tip – Bring a re-usable water bottle with you to the airport and fill it up in a water fountain after you pass through security. I drink a lot of water so buying 5 little water bottles is not very cost efficient!

DSCN9521I brought  Intuitive Eating  to read on the plane- I am taking this book really slow so I can actually work through the steps as I’m reading them.  Did I tell you guys I got Intuitive Eating on CD from the RD on my last appt? I just listened to disc one and it’s very helpful! It’s very similar to the book, but relays the info a little different and has some added stuff. *But, I was talking to my mom about IE and I don’t think it’s for everyone trying to lose weight. I think getting to Intuitive Eating is most relevant for someone with a history of an eating disorder, disordered eating, binge eating or someone who has a long history with dieting (and regaining). I understand some people are overweight for other reasons and they may need other help with their specific issues.

Now I think I’m going to watch The Reader 🙂

I hope you arrived safely! I am glad you took a photo of the book because I REALLY want to read that! I love any health related book and that one would be right up my alley!

That’s so funny you dropped your camera in the oats- something I would totally do.

I hope you aren’t too overcome with stress! I know what you are going though- exactly. We may have different things spreading us thin, but I get it. As a result, I haven’t been eating as healthy as I should. I know that eating healthier would actually contribute to feeling better. I need to sit down and right now a list of things that help me feel calm and stress-less as well as ways I can cope with stress. Good idea? I love lists.
