Run Eat Repeat

Moderation is NOT for This Monican

My Life

FacebookTweetPin
8 Dec

I know moderation is great and all, but deep down to the core of my soul I am not a person who thinks or does or lives in moderation. It’s not a good thing, but it’s who I am and I’ve come to learn how to fight against it sometimes and just go with it other times. Right now I cannot get enough of the following things in my life. I am obsessed with them and for right now at least moderation isn’t for this Monican…

everything in moderation except vodka

1. Eggs. Every day I have them at some point either for breakfast, lunch or dinner – sometimes for all three.

2. Running. I skipped my rest day this week to run for my heart. I just needed time to zone out and breathe hard and sweat and listen to that Hot Line Bling. I was probably bad for my legs (they’re tired now) but good for my soul.

3. PUPPIES. I am obsessed with my parents’ dogs. I just feel like my heart bursts with happiness when they are trying to love me up.

Look how photogenic Bonnie and Clyde are today!

4. Eyeliner. Truthfully, I was just trying to even it out and it kept getting thicker this morning. It’s a little much for the day time, but chicks dig it.

5. Quest Bars. Every day.

Great Suit Watch of 2015: The suit I saw hanging on the path the other day is still there and now there’s a flower clipped on the sign! Someone commented on Instagram that it’s a movement to leave suits for homeless people? That’s a great cause but I don’t think it’s the best place to do that. Stay tuned for more.

Oh god I loooove Quest bars! They’re super expensive in the UK since theyr’e imported but I might treat myself to a box for christmas!

One thing I’m not good at in moderation is: coffee. Suuuuper sweet coffee. It’s becoming a problem!

This week I’m obsessed with Christmas cookies. No bueno. In a hoarder/I want to eat them all, alone, in a dark room with a glass of wine kind of way. Moderation is not my thing either!

Yes! Puppies and eyeliner are critical.

Thing I’m obsessed with this week (and actually all weeks) … Bread!! I love me some good, fresh bread and I can’t get enough of it. I went to my first bread-baking class this week and all I want to do is make/eat/share bread!

Puppies, quest bars and running, all things in life that should not be had in moderation!

I suck at moderation. I’m obsessed with baking and coffee this week. I want to try the holiday flat white!

Ever since you posted the recipe for pumpkin granola, I have not been able to get enough of it. So now that I’m out and I refuse to make more, I eat raisins like crazy. I bought Costco’s trail mix for my son for a snack before / after swimming (now that the season started) and he’s not crazy about all the nuts. So, being a smart mom, I bough m&m’s (peanut and plain), raisins and peanuts. I mixed them all in a gallon sized ziploc bag and said, “Hide these in your room because I will eat them all.” So, he puts a handful or so in a sandwich bag every day for practice. The problem is that when he gets out of practice, I want to eat what’s left over in the bag. “Hey, let me have a handful of your trail mix.” Okay, mom. Next thing, the bag is empty because I want to eat it all. It’s awful. The other thing I am obsessed with is Christmas music. I have it playing all the time and I get mad if someone turns it off. Dan Fogelberg’s Same Old Lang Syne came on tonight and I played it over and over on YouTube. I think my husband thinks I’m unhappy in our relationship because I love this song so much. Not true, just a nostalgic song that makes me happy.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with Starbucks new holiday spice flat white. It’s sooooo good. I do not do moderation well either, and sometimes I drink 2 per day.
