All I Want For Christmas…

I was reading the latest issue of Runner’s World last night (while watching The Biggest Loser) and squealed with delight when I found their “Best of” section. It sparked inspiration for my my Christmas list(minus one or two things). Normally I forget what I want and blank when people ask me, but this year I made a list. I don’t actually expect to get these things from anyone since they are very expensive, but I do like to save up and buy presents for myself over the course of the year 🙂

Born To Run – This book just came out this year, but I’ve been wanting it since a friend mentioned it over a year ago. Besides, I believe it’s about my people on some level.born to runNew Camera – Ever since my camera broke a few months back, I’ve been using Ben’s. I’ve been eyeing a few cameras ever since, but my wallet thinks my taste is too expensive and this probably won’t’ happen for a long while.slr camera

Shoes shoes shoes! I go through running shoes fast and like to alternate between two pairs during training. I would love a pair of Adidas Supernova or Asics Gel Nimbus 🙂IMG_2892Running Gear – Shirts, shorts, skirts, whatever. If it’s running gear, I’ll take it with a smile 🙂 running skirtAnd a seltzer maker in a pear tree… seltzerWhile it is nice to dream about fancy gifts, the reality is Ben and I don’t exchange presents on Christmas because we have to spend money on flying to visit family. Last  year we decided to make gifts for each other. Looking back, I can’t believe I didn’t post about this. I made Ben a quilt. Yes, a quilt. Let’s remember that I am Not Martha.

My mom’s friend helped me make an “easy” quilt and I did it!!! It took me a long time and was a little jacked up, but I’m proud of it. IMG_2936I can truly say “All I Want for Christmas is You” to Ben because this will be our first time actually spending Christmas together. This is only our third Christmas together and for the last two years Ben went home to Florida while I stayed in CA with my fam. Then, the day after Christmas I flew to FL and spent New Year’s with Ben’s fam. This was the most fair plan because we were living in CA near my fam at the time.

This year we will be flying to CA for Christmas (yeah!) and then flying to FL after the New Year. We will visit Ben’s fam for a few days then, it’s off to Disney World for the MARATHON!!!

Well, I am off to do some Good Deeds. I’m trying to get on Santa’s Nice List so I can get some of the things on my list…

You can check here to see if you’re on Santa’s Naughty or Nice List. Score! I’m on the Nice List!!!

Check out North Pole.com for the down low on Santa (this is more for kids, but we’re all kids at Christmas, right?).

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

I’m with you. We’re doing secret santa again because then we only have to buy one or two presents. We’re also going to my brother’s wedding on Jan. 2 so that’s going to be expensive.

I read that book this summer and it was an easy read and a REALLY good book! I need to read it again, and ultra runners fascinate me! I tried running barefoot for awhile and then stopped…a bit too much too fast ;/

I found my used copy on Amazon for pretty cheap, I think that one is attainable for someone to get for you.

My fiance and I aren’t doing gifts to each other this year either… instead we split the cost of a Canon Rebel 😉

You totally just reminded me I need to re-subscribe to my Runner’s World and I probably won’t be getting this or next months. I think I was on my last issue last month. Gaaah.

      Thanks for the reminder! 😉

I love homemade gifts — it is sweet that you made Ben a quilt. I plan to crochet my sister and mom scarves and hats for xmas.

I love homemade gifts! The lovely fella and I have decided to do a no gift Christmas this year, since I’m broke. But a homemade gift could work around that 🙂

Hope you get everything you want!

Awww I love that you made Ben a quilt!! My mom is a big quilter/knitter/sewer so she’s always been big on homemade gifts. They mean so much!!

Not that I’m not hoping for you to get the camera too though 😉
