Black Friday Facts

25 Nov

1. Black Friday is in fact named as such because wearing all black helps conceal the extra 6 pounds you gained from Thanksgiving.

It’s pretty genius if you ask me.champion hoodie

I definitely got crazy with the food yesterday, but I don’t think I was the only one… thanksgiving barbie(source)

2. Even though most of us had the biggest meal of the year yesterday, many will complain they had to park sooooooo far from the stores.

I walked to work today because my gym is located in a mall shopping center and I knew parking would be impossible. I’m embarrassed to say this is the first time I’ve done it, but I’ve decided to walk at least once a week from now on! (I work just a little over a mile from home, most of the time I have randomly scheduled clients so it’s not really convenient.)IMG_2586 (800x600)

3. An apple snack seems pretty tragic compared to yesterday’s cheese stuffed crescent roll appetizers.

After my client I chomped on an apple. I wish I would have brought some kind of protein to go with it though. I wish there was a protein tree I could grab an easy snack from.IMG_2588 (800x600)

Then, I passed out Black Friday flyers with my friend/co-worker. Time flew and before we knew it 1pm came and went. I didn’t get home until 2 and was unbelievably grateful for Thanksgiving leftovers!!!IMG_2590 (800x600)

4. If it’s in the house, I’ll eat it. I tried not too bring home too many desserts, but couldn’t resist a little treat after lunch.IMG_2594 (800x600)

5. I’ve never went out shopping for Black Friday deals and kinda feel like I’m missing out.

Winners for the last week of Pile on the Miles are coming up in a bit!

I did Black Friday once and wanted to punch everyone in the soul. I wouldn’t mind it if some people didn’t get so freaking irrational.

I am the same way – if it’s in the house I’ll eat it. I try not to take any leftovers, but we usually end up with the desserts. Not that I complain too much the next day… Although the apple I ate yesterday tasted so weird, I mean, it wasn’t in pie form!

Weirdly, I wasn’t in the mood for leftovers today! Usually I am all set for Thanksgiving dinner #2 with leftovers, but today the extent of it was using turkey in a stir-fry dish and have a few bites of stuffing. Who am I????

I really struggle with the whole protein thing too. I started counting calories/nutritional info lately and I was shocked to see how little protein I eat.

I wish it was easier to get. The only quick kind for me is cheese sticks or pre-cooking eggs.

Black friday shoppers get craaaazy. I usually end up going later in the day (like noon or later) to avoid the riots and just see what all is left over.

I thought it was Black Friday because of the shopping! Like because it’s the biggest shopping day of the year the stores go from being in the “red” to being in the “black.” Or I could be making that up. Or you could be making up the black clothing day… 😉

I didn’t go shopping either! I worked..so that was my excuse but really crowds and lines and fist-fights at Wal-Mart? No thank ya!!

You’re not missing anything. Black Friday shopping scares me. And black is always a good idea. There’s no way you ate enough for six pounds; it must just be bloat.

Silly question, I notice that you put a lot of things into a salad that I wouldn’t think of. I really do not like salad, do you recommend this? The only salad I really like is the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad from Panera. I could eat it all the time if it wasn’t so expensive.
