Blogher Closing Reception and Sunday Set Up

Yesterday afternoon we headed to Amie’s room. She had a suite at the Fairmont Olympic and that was party central. You can see why…IMG_2102 (800x600) (800x600)

I had a small glass of white – it was good!IMG_2113 (800x600) (800x600)

At this point I was hungry and enjoyed a piece of cookie and some crackers with cheese.IMG_2104 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2106 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2107 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2109 (600x800) (600x800)

IMG_2110 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2112 (800x600) (800x600)

Amie works with Organic Valley and they even stocked the room with chocolate milk. I should have refueled with this after my run this morning Winking smileIMG_2114 (600x800) (600x800)

We ended up getting lost in conversation until someone realized it was almost 7pm and we headed to the Blogher Food Closing Reception.IMG_2155 (800x600) (800x600)

It was held at Sodo Park – this amazing rustic venue!IMG_2119 (600x800) (600x800)

We were all saying this would be the perfect wedding venue!IMG_2144 (800x600) (800x600)IMG_2146 (600x800) (600x800)IMG_2147 (800x600) (800x600)

I got super excited about the Sweet Potato Crab Cakes – two of my favorite things!IMG_2124 (600x800) (600x800)

IMG_2130 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2133 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2135 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2138 (800x600) (800x600)

IMG_2139 (600x800) (600x800)

I have never had grits before and if they all taste like this – I’m in love.IMG_2140 (800x600) (800x600)

The party was hosted by Ree Drummond, Jaden Hair and Elise Bauer. Um, I was pretty excited about being within 100 yards of the Pioneer Woman. I should have given her a “red hair don’t care” shirt.IMG_2148 (800x600) (800x600)

Okay, I really don’t have a shirt like that, but wish I did.

We mingled around and finally ran into Jenna from Eat Live Run. jenna eatliverun tina carrotsncake monica rer(Source: Tina)

Sadly, I’m a bum and we headed out of there fairly early.IMG_2156 (800x600) (800x600)

Back at the room Tina and I packed up our stuff and I realized I wasn’t going to be able to fit this box of graham crackers. So, I told her, “We need to eat all of these tonight.”

Tina came through and together we plowed through a pack of them. That’s what friends are for, right?IMG_2161 (600x800) (600x800)

We had a 5am wake up call and were on the shuttle by 5:30am. I had the best time at the conference! Sad to go home, but excited to see Ben and my fam…IMG_2158 (600x800) (600x800)

Bye Seattle!IMG_2164 (800x600)

Hello shuttle!IMG_2167 (800x600)

By the time we got through security I was HUNGRY. Tina and I stayed together for breakfast and thought this long line was a good sign Smile

I got an egg sandwich on a multi-grain bagelIMG_2174 (600x800)

with ketchup of course!IMG_2176 (800x600)

Sadly, Tina had to get to her terminal so we parted ways. IMG_2178 (800x600)

I entertained myself on the flight with wifi, a $3.00 pear and Dara TorresIMG_2189 (800x600)IMG_2193 (800x600)

The flight was only about 2.4 hours and was over before I knew it! I’m so so happy this was a west coast trip and I didn’t have to deal with 5 hour flights or jet lag! IMG_2195 (800x600)

When I got home around noon I discovered our fridge was bare and my stomach was grumbling. I grabbed a handful of almonds and hit up TJ’sIMG_2203 (800x600)

I threw together a quick salad lunch

and broke into the Fran’s chocolate I bought at the airport. Apparently this a “must-try” of Seattle.IMG_2208 (800x600)

IMG_2210 (800x600)

I wanted to take a nap at this point, but I had one more important thing to do…

Watermelon Run!IMG_2217 (800x600)

Yep, I hit up Costco for essentials Smile

IMG_2215 (800x600)

I’m so glad I planned my flight to get home early enough to get myself ready for the week.

It was a “eat everything in sight because I feel like poo” kind of weekend. Not too hard to crave healthy foods after one of those!

We don’t have Costco, but I hit up Sam’s and the regular grocery store this weekend, too! I always feel so healthy when I’m buying bulk fruits and veggies and other people are buying bulk pizza rolls and chips.

That chocolate bar looked freakin’ killer. The main thing I do to set myself up for a good week is make sure I have plenty of delicious, yet healthy, groceries in my kitchen available to make yummy food. I also try to make sure I’m feeling well emotionally and deal with that if I’m not, because icky emotions lead to me not eating right/eating too much/not exercising/etc.

I always get so annoyed because I’m the only one in the house that eats greens when I buy them so they almost always end up going bad before I use all of them. I feel bad for wasting the food and wish that I could find a smaller bag of lettuce or spinach.

My local shop’s started to sell the same amount as there *was* in one pack, but in “twin packs” – so you only have to open half the amount at a time and the other stays sealed and fresh.

Every time I see a picture of your Costco cart, I’m amazed that you and Ben can finish all those veggies before they go bad. Way to go!!!

I definitely need to get a plan going to start eating healthier again! I just ended my second year of college and I’m doing summer school this summer so I’m going to have time to get myself back into shape! I used to be a high school athlete but my sweet tooth has taking a rein over me. Ha, I’ve definitely gained some muscle from body pump but not 10 lbs worth…My first reaction to seeing my new weight…ah f it i’m eating cake…ha..this may be harder than I thought. I notice that sugar makes my skin break out though as well, so that’s just another incentive…now let me get back to that cake 😛

Looked like you had an awesome few days of eating! On Sunday evenings I like to plan my week, clean my house and get organised. For me, organising my life involves writing copious amounts of lists; detailing meals, my workout schedule for the week, shoppings lists etc. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? 😉

I’m glad you had a great time at Blogher. I am ALSO glad that my husband and I are not the only party of 2 that go through so many eggs so quickly! Costco stays in business because of us.
