Unfortunately, I did not eat a frittata with Brandy Chastain today. The title is just referencing my dinner and interview
As soon as Cindy left I made a super quick lunch and rushed out the door. I ate this in the car on the way to work. I’ll never learn my lesson on only eating easy foods on the road…
On a random errand I stopped by the Strawberry stand for 20 bucks worth of the good stuff. These are the only strawberries worth buying.
I ate 78 of them on the way home. Luckily (?) I still have 94 left…
I was having a very “eating” day, meaning I wanted to eat a lot – Not that I was necessarily hungry. Eating days happen and I work with it instead of trying to white knuckle through (that doesn’t work for me and I end up binging).
So, I made a big bowl of popcorn and allowed myself to chomp away. I also had a protein bar at some point.
I’ve been craving a frittata and finally took the time to make one tonight. First. onions and mushrooms…
Finally, egg beaters and cheese and put in the oven to set…
Broccoli Slaw Frittata with sourdough. Perfection.
I recently had the opportunity to interview Brandy Chastain for her involvement with the Electrolux Kicking and Cleaning Campaign. Remember her from the winning shot from the 1999 US Women’s World Cup WIN?!?!(source)
Being the serious reporter I am, I asked her the tough questions like… “What did you eat yesterday?” and “Run any marathons lately?”
You can check out the interview here:

I call “eating days” – bottomless pit days… I hate those. You’re right though, if you don’t power through a binge is imminent.
Jenn @ Run It My Way says
That frittata (sp?) looks amazing!!! I don’t know if it’s a sign that I read too many blogs, but 99% of my cooking inspiration lately has come from blogs! Also good to know how to *actually* make a frittata, I tried them before but ended up with an omelette with too many veggies in it every time, and of course they always fell apart!

That frittata looks amaze! Is there a recipe for a strawberry frittata. I’d love some tips for on-the-go “meals.”
Rebecca @ Miss Magnolia Munches & Moves says
oooh. I love frittatas. They are my go to meal.
Kaitlyn says
You are so lucky to have strawberries this time of year. I can’t wait!
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I’m so jealous of your strawberries! I can’t find any good strawberries yet.
I was having an eating say yesterday too, mostly at night. I had popcorn and jelly beans!
Catherine says
I had an eating day yesterday too – I hate those, but I did the popcorn thing as well and tried to drink lots of green tea (did not really help). Thanks for sharing – made me feel better about my eating day:)

Now I want a frittata! I have some peppers and onions to cut up and keep in the fridge. Makes it easier to throw something like that together.

I’m usually very jelousy of the great looking fruit you have in CA, but the strawberrys are over the top. The only place I can get produce like that is Whole Foods if I leave and arm and leg there.

Love, love, love the broccoli slaw frittata. I will be making this soon, for sure 😉
Lisa @ Yo Momma Runs says
Those strawberries look amazing. Much better than the moldy ones at my store. And I love, love, love US women’s soccer. Why didn’t she tell us her marathon time? Now I’m wondering.
