Do you get it? It’s like “Check me out” but not. Ha.
I have A LOT of Chickpeas to eat. I’m not complaining, but I just realized I have 2 Chickpea centered meals in a row today!
I could not read my hunger at all today! I didn’t feel hungry, but it had been 4 hours since I ate – that’s weird for me. I didn’t want to get overly hungry so I ate. I don’t know if that’s bad or good, whatever.
Lunch was a big salad topped with chickpeas and hummus. I’m an addict and I may never use salad dressing again.
With watermelon on the side, another addiction 🙂
I tried this new bar today – my mom bought a huge package of them at Costco. It was okay, but didn’t change my life.
My other afternoon snacks included an apple and chips.
When I got home I stayed out of the kitchen for 30 minutes and it worked! That is my little triumph of the day 🙂
I made my version of Chana Masala today, meaning I just threw tomatoes, garlic, spinach and random spices in a pot. Then, added the chickpeas. My local market didn’t have Garam Masala so I figured, I would deal with what I had.
I made brown rice too and it soaked up the sauce amazingly.
Now I’m enjoying this “Change your f-iing life” dark chocolate bar my mom got me at Godiva. God bless that woman. God bless her.
Ben is currently watching a documentary on Mike Tyson. Now I can’t watch trash TV, boo.
I am so happy tomorrow is Friday. It was a hard week for me emotionally. I think the drama of the wedding, moving away from the fam and everything else is starting to catch up with me! I am overwhelmed.
P.S. – I just ate a cookie. I know you probably don’t care, but I did.

ooh chickpeas! my go-to meal when i have no food in the house is black beans, corn and chickpeas. with whatever veggies i have in the fridge added in, and lots of chili powder / paprika. sometimes, ill add tuna and some plain yogurt, if i have it. total protein party/
a great salad to try though is this: chickpeas, red onion, goat cheese, lemon juice, olive oil and lots of good salt and pepper!

I love chickpeas! I’m trying to save money on my grocery bill and I think beans are going to be the new meat in my household.
It’s okay to feel emotional right now. To cheer yourself up, just think of all the new and exciting moments you have ahead of you!

I know you will probably be SO sick of chickpeas soon, but I am majorly jealous of your mega-can. Maybe it’s worth getting a membership just for that? 🙂

I love Indian food but, I have never tried to make it myself…yours looks great! Moving away from family can be really hard. I moved 5 hours away from mine four years ago when I got engaged. Thank goodness for cell phones and text/picture messaging!

I just wanted to say, that I have been reading alot of food blogs for awhile and yours is by far my favorite! I don’t know you, but I feel like I do and can ‘picture’ you saying the things that you write (I mean this in a non-creepy way!) You are very real and funny and I enjoy your blog greatly. Keep up the good work with the IE stuff- I look forward to your journey!

Great choice of slogans, I’m going to need to think before I vote
And don’t bother with full bars–they work on the same principle as eating an apple 1/2 an hour before you eat except are a lot more expensive
