I used to get the worst cramps in my calves. They were so bad they would leave bruises on my legs! It was painful and didn’t look very attractive either!
I was vegan at the time & it took me a while to realize I wasn’t getting all the vitamins/nutrients my body needed. It was nothing a supplement couldn’t fix, but I was young and dumb and didn’t do any research on how to make sure I was getting all the vitamins/minerals/protein/etc my body needed.
My point is – I looked healthy and felt pretty good, but my body was letting me know something was “off”.
In our efforts to be healthy, eat a certain way or get a new exercise plan it’s important that we don’t just passionately follow a certain methodology or trend while ignoring our bodies. If you feel tired/ sick/weak, or if your body is sending you obvious signals – slow down and pay attention.
Our bodies are amazing! And we can be healthy while avoiding animal products/running 26 miles /trying to change a habit. But, don’t forget that how you treat/rest/feed yourself is key in how YOU feel 🙂
I read a lot of blogs and I see how others are eating and exercising. Sometimes I really admire what someone is doing and I’ll want to give it a whirl too, but above anything else I have to do what’s best for me to feel happy and be healthy. I still try foods or excersizes that other people turn me on to, but I only can stick with it if it makes me feel good 🙂

Great reminder – we have got to listen to your bodies. This has become more and more important to me as I increase my running mileage. I have to take care of my body! No one else will!
