Let’s get one thing straight – I’m not from the OC. I’m from Pico, and that makes me chill as shit. But, Ben lives in the OC, which means sometimes I kinda do too 🙂
He recently moved to a new place and this morning was my first run around this new area of the OC. I found an awesome trail that goes out 6.7something miles. It goes through a sort of wilderness area & it’s very rural (for Orange County). I was surrounded by trees, bushes and rabbits. It was so secluded, sometimes I was the only runner for a mile – this doesn’t happen near my place.
Also, I met a new friend. I heard someone running behind me for a while and then when we hit a hill, I started to walk and he passed me. Then, (once the hill was over) I caught up to him. We talked and I told him I’m new to running around the area. Turns out he is part of a running group and invited me to join 🙂 Yeah for new friends.
I only meant to do 11, but ended up doing 12 miles because my new friend and I were talking. It probably evened out to 11 since I took a few walk breaks. I have to start training on hills!
I need to take some pics while running to show you guys! I love this new trail I found.
When I got back I ate cereal straight from the box because I am a lady and then Ben and I went to the Corner Bakery because he is a bachelor and has no food. I got the Farmer’s Scramble with egg whites and gave him a piece of toast and some ‘taters. I’m not normally an egg person, but I think protein is super important after long runs. In the past I would have gotten the oatmeal since it’s the “healthiest” thing on the menu and then left the restaurant unsatisfied or ended up eating some of Ben’s food in addition to mine, not today. I felt very satisfied and well fueled after this meal 🙂
I ate cherries a bit later.
Then, we went to see The Hangover and Ben went to get my a drink and came back with a small popcorn and a soft pretzel. I love movie theater popcorn & soft pretzels, so I partook in both 🙂 That shit is good, I don’t care how buttery movie popcorn is, admit it, it’s good. Ben took this picture in the lobby with his phone. He thought of the blog and knew I wouldn’t be able to take a pic in the theatre 🙂
I ate some fruit while running numerous wedding errands. I pretty much and thisclose to running away to Vegas with Ben. This wedding planning is bull. Oh, and I had Costco samples because it’s so great to be able to have a few bites of food and not have to buy a lifetime supply.
Ben’s been feeling sick and I have been wanting to jump on the juicing bandwagon, so I got him a Immunity special juice from Whole Foods. He liked it?
I got a Strawberry Sod-y. I am an addict to the Kombucha. It’s weird, but everytime I have one my body slightly aches. I think my body loves the Kombucha goodness 🙂
We went to my favorite restaurant for dinner – Whole Foods salad bar. I don’t care that I have to eat out of a cardboard box, this is 5 star for me.
I made a small container of hot foods – brussels, 2 bites of mac’n cheese, pasta, broccoli…
And I made a bigger one of cold salads. It was full of goodies – taboli, fancy couscous, curry rice, veggie pad thai.
Then, I topped it with the veggies I had at home. This saved money since these are priced by weight 🙂
Dessert is a cocktail or two. Heck, who am I kidding…”Keep ’em coming Ben!” It’s been a long week month and it’s not slowing down any time soon. I’m getting married in 6 days. I am starting a whole new life soon. I have a very long list of things to do before it all goes down.
So, don’t judge me if you see a lot of this,
or a lot of this…
Why is it people judge you if you use alcohol to deal with your problems but not ice cream? Being overweight is accepted by society – even if it’s caused by binge eating/emotional eating/some other pyschological imbalance. That’s frustrating to me. I have a problem and I should be judged as harshly as someone with a problem with alcohol. Don’t let me off the hook just because it’s Yogurtland and not Jose Cuervo!
Oh, and Ben and I discovered blackberries growing on the patio. How fun is that? And yes, I am going to wear my “Bride” shirt everyday until the wedding. Hey, we planned this thing in 6 months and I haven’t been able to be a “Bride-to-be” long enough!
Last night we went for sushi. I love sushi, but don’t get the “real” stuff aka raw. I want to post if for record and because it was so good 🙂
Yes, that frozen yogurt picture from above was from last night. I love frozen yogurt and I’m not going to stop enjoying it. Life is short, there are more important things to worry about than indulging in ice cream. Put it in perspective people.
We had a bunch of things to do in one huge shopping plaza and we just parked at one location and walked everywhere. I guess I made Ben walk too much because he made me push him for a bit in a Costco cart. Ha.

That’s hilarious Ben thought of the blog and took a photo of movie theatre goodies. LOL
I agree with your idea regarding how turning to food to deal with ones problems is just as bad as turning to alcohol. Hopefully in time society can change it’s thinking before it’s too late.
Amazing run! 12 miles! I wanted to do around 10 miles but I didn’t have it in me. Oh well- 6 is better than non right?

Kombucha makes your body ache in a good or bad way? An old friend use to say that it made her feel a little “sick”, but she thought it was detoxing or something, so she took it as a good sign. ??? I never feel bad when I drink it so can’t say one way or another.
What a fun time at WF, and congrats & good luck on the upcoming wedding!!!! Woo-hoo!

Hi, just randomly reading food blogs and wanted to say that My body randomly aches every time I drink a kombucha too! (which is every day, I’m also addicted). It’s sort of like a tingle/ache in my legs and stomach…very strange! Other people have also confirmed this sensation…
