Run Eat Repeat

Favorite Distance?

Lunch! Last night I made the salmon salad with canned salmon, mayo, pickles, onions and curry powder. DSCN1951With watermelon, carrots and a wrap this lunch took a long time to eat and was the most satisfying lunch I’ve had in a long time! I didn’t need the Diet Coke, but made an executive decision that it was good for my soul even if it’s bad for my body.DSCN1948

Dessert = Chocolate Calcium Chew DSCN1954A few days ago Meghann and I were talking about her upcoming 5K. (She is super speedy by the way!) It occurred to me that  I’ve never ran a 5K. I ran one 10K as the start to my official racing career years ago and from there did a half marathon and fell in love with that distance.

Question: What’s your favorite distance???

Me: Half-Marathons are my favorite distance all the way! But, I do want to run a 5K or 10K now for the experience. I’m looking for one nearby 🙂 I’m training for the full marathon because I hate myself, I mean because I am crazy and/or for the adventure.

Having run 6 marathons and know the training that goes into them, I have to say that a 10 mile race is my favorite race (and we have a few great ones in DC to choose from).
My normal runs are around 6-7 miles so a 10 mile race is always doable. My next favorite is the 1/2 marathon as there’s a bit more training and challenge involved but nothing that will knock you down quite like a marathon (and the training) can!

So far I love 5 miles. It’s the longest race I’ve run and felt fantastic. I usually run 5K’s but I’m training for a 10K and I like the middle distance that makes me feel strong.

I don’t really race, but I guess mine would be the 10k, since I run about 6-7 miles every morning. I want to go for a half some day

i’ve never run a 5k either! this weekend i shall lose my 5k virginity 🙂

i like both 10k and half. both are short enough to put in a hard effort but are long enough that i feel my $ is being well spent haha

      Run a 5k!!

My fave distance is Half Marathon too! It’s great because I feel like I can really work on improving my speed with each race.

I haven’t actually run any races, but I hope to run one later this year or early next year. I am pretty slow at this point. I love having the calcium chew – feels like I am being really bad!

Because I love promoting the area, there are two weekly fall 5ks on Sundays at 2pm on 10/4 & 11/15. There only $1 for nonmembers 🙂 http://www.striders.net
My favorite race distance is def. the half marathon too, though, I like 10 milers probably just as much.

I’ve only run one, but I think the half marathon is my favorite distance too!
