My mom bought star gazers for the centerpieces at my Bridal Shower this weekend. We gave most of them away, but kept one. They took a couple of days, but now most of them are open and beautiful.

Lunch– I bought the biggest bag of spinach from Costco, but have no desire to eat spinach. I made myself a big salad and a piece of ww with cheese on the side.
I love the cheese bread and really like the salad.
I’ve decided to start putting foods in categories:
– Love it
– Like it
– Okay
– Don’t like it
Are you impressed with how scientific and complicated my categories are?
I want to figure out what foods I really love. This helps with Intuitive Eating. The book says sometimes you will be surprised to discover foods you thought you loved, you don’t really care for that much. The allure of them being “bad” foods make them more tempting. So, when you give yourself permission to eat what you crave you can discover what you really love!

Those flowers are beautiful! I’m having white and orange lillies for my wedding in a little over 2 weeks.
I’m really impressed in your achievements through intuitive eating, I recently read the book and am so jealous that you get to actually talk to one of the authors on such a regular basis. As far as I can tell, you are doing amazing, taking 30 days to focus on one issue is a great idea, especially since it’s not as overwhelming as trying to change everything!
I agree with only eating foods that you like/love. Why waste your time and energy on something that won’t make you happy??

Love your honesty girl. I think your break down of food likes and dislikes is perfect! it’s always good to keep it simple. I remember figuring out when I thought I really liked certain foods, only to find out after I allowed myself to eat whatever I craved, I found I actually didn’t like a lot of things I thought I did. I just thought I liked it because it was in my mind “bad” but I really didn’t like them after all, It’s a strange thing.

I think the Like/Love idea is great. I’ve tried doing that but unfortunately I usually forget.
Love the dot dishes too!

Hi there! I’ve seen the book Intuitive Eating reference a lot these days in the blogsphere. Based on your scientific scale, how would your ate it? 🙂
I’m really bonding with your About section. I’m in a similar boat and would like to lose 10-15 lbs which I think will be an ideal weight for my body frame and give me more energy for my active lifestyle. In the meantime, I just keep on plodding along with my running and trying to learn better eating habits.

I’m confident that you’re going to get all of the food-stuff figured out. It seems like you have a lot of pressure right now with life in general, so pressuring yourself about food as well is probably doing a number on you physically and mentally.
In my own situation, as soon as I started to realize that my life does not revolve around food, and that eating really doesn’t take as much thought as I was putting into it, my stress-level about food went away completely. I also started doing something kind for myself (other than food rewards) every single day. Even if it was taking a 15 minute walk on my lunch break. It helped me relax, and also kept my focus off of food.
It’s a tough road to deprogram yourself from all of the garbage that you’ve learned over the years, and the diet mentality. You’re doing great though. Be kind to yourself.
