I have always voted Foe, and a recent article in SparkPeople seems to agree.
To break it down very simply – it says that your body reacts to Fructose differently than other sugars. Normally sugar sparks something in your body to tell you when you are full. High Fructose Corn Syrup does not have this affect on your body so it is hard to just listen to your body’s signals to know when to stop. Overall, it seems it’s not going to kill you, but it can be detrimental to weight loss and to avoiding weight gain over time. We all know that we should watch our sugar intake in general, not just HFCS. The article just advises to stay away from products where it is one of the main ingredients, but I would avoid it in general.
As always – make sure you know what you’re putting in your body!
