I Have Zero Self Control Around Fresh Bread

My Life· What Runners Eat

22 Jan

So, this is kinda sorta like confession Thursday as I’m admitting that I have ZERO self control. I feel like that’s a big enough confession for one day and we’ll leave it at that.

Today is my rest day from running so I sported my new Lorna Jane gear for an at home strength session. This tank has a fancy back I’ll show ya tomorrow.

I’m bringing Cholula back… those other hot sauces don’t know how to act…

After my workout and some morning writing I got a very happy delivery. The great people at Cabot Cheese sent me some of their finest cheese. I LOVE this stuff. I see quesadillas in my future…

all the cheese (800x600)

Then, I headed out for a few errands including ‘snack time’ at Costco Winking smile

i have no self control

Because I’m some kind of bread pervert, I stopped to say hello to my carbalicious friends. These honey wheat and cranberry walnut loaves are new to me and when I picked one up for inspection I felt that they were still warm!!! If you’re also craving for freshly baked bread, contact a local bakery that offers fresh bread delivery services.

Freshly baked bread is to Monica as coke is to Charlie Sheen (allegedly). I seriously had to call my sponsor and have them talk me down (read: I text my mom and asked her if she needed bread as I would very kindly pick some up for her and eat half the loaf in the process).

In the end I stuck with my list. Womp womp womp.

Question: Is there anything you have 0 self control around?

Me: Freshly baked anything, chocolate, fro-yo, pizza…

Any kind of chewy candy….. Holy cow…. I can demolish 5 boxes of Swedish Fish, dots, gummy bears, twizzlers, sour patch kids etc etc, like it’s my job.

I tend to not look at calorie count, because if you don’t know how many calories they are…. They are considered calorie free 😉

I have no willpower around sweets…brownies, cookies, cake. I don’t but it for my house because I’ll eat it immediately!

French fries are my weakness, but I also have been known to eat an entire loaf of sourdough bread in one sitting.

I’m with you on the freshly baked anything – also, french fries, jalapeno poppers and most things involving cheese…

Cranberry walnut bread sounds amazing! I would have eaten half the loaf that same day. Bread and sweets are my weakness.

Probably these chocolate covered fruits in my pantry. I see them whenever I go to the sink and am reminded that they are delicious. Maybe if I eat the whole bag as quickly as I can they wont be there to tempt me anymore. That sounds like a rational plan.

I’m with you, fresh baked bread is the best! Or fresh baked cookies. Or brownies. Really, just anything that comes from the oven. 🙂

Who are these fine Cabot cheese people and how do we become friends? Lol. I love Cabot cheese but I can’t find it out here in LA. I even took a tour of the Cabot factory a while back. The best thing I tried there was a popcorn with powdered sharp cheddar. Earth shatteringly good.

Instead of quesadillas (wait, in addition to! I can’t say no to some ‘dillas), I’d invite you to try it with some mostarda on some French bread or maybe along with some apple cider. Yumm

    Pizza!
    Lays or Ruffles potato chips.
Palmetto Cheese (a brand of pimiento cheese).
If I buy any of these things, I can barely get back in the car before ripping into them.

I have a hard time with holiday candy- I feel like it’s such a hot commodity or something. Other than that, I have zero self control around gift cards- they burn a hole in my pocket like crazy.

Chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie dough and warm, freshly baked bread 🙂 Especially if it’s not already cut…because then I’ll just tear off a quarter of the loaf and devour it!

I have no self control around ice cream. Or cookie butter. OR COOKIE BUTTER ICE CREAM IM LOOKING AT YOU BEN AND JERRY’S.

(Ok to be honest I’m currently doing the Whole30 so I still haven’t tried the new B&J’s cookie butter flavor, but I imagine I wouldn’t have any self control around it.)

My second. Do B&J really make cookie butter ice cream? That would be “food without brakes for sure”!

Omg, yes, fresh bread is my crutch. I JUST walked by that bread yesterday at Costco and smelled it and my friend was like, “WTF was that?” And I told them smelling it was my alternative to eating the whole loaf in one sitting with butter or cheese.

For sure, my problem is quality bread — especially if there is some Irish butter around. One day a week I sell my from-scratch cookie dough at the local farmer’s market, and my stand is directly across from a guy who makes all kinds of sourdoughs. I basically stand there and salivate. Oh, and kettle corn. Just let me stick my head in a vat full of it.
