Hello! How are you doing? It’s week 2 of me actually training for one of those marathon race things. Yesterday I hit up a class that had a lot of leg work so I had my work cut out for me today. My training plan called for a 5 mile tempo run, 1 mile each warm up and cool down.
I was going to drive to a flatter location but didn’t have time. So I knew my goal times would be a little off since the route away from my house is slightly uphill the whole time. I basically live in a ditch and it’s uphill every way out.
I took a couple of breaks to change my music and talk a relfie (run selfie even though it sounds like ‘ralph selfie’ as in barf). I only hit my goal pace one mile, but I think I’m aiming a little high with the goals anyway.
My warm up and cool down miles were super slow. My tempos… 8:42, 8:54, 8:27, 8:23, 8:12. You can see where the uphills got me.
I grabbed an apple as soon as I got home and made breakfast.
Last night I hit up the GW (GoodWill) to look for costumes.
I need a Halloween costume and I need a costume for Rock N Roll LA this weekend. I bought a few things, but am still not sure what I’m going to be for the race.
I got this pink crayon costume for my mom. She has to dress up because my niece’s party is on Halloween and we’re all dressing up. (I will not be a pink crayon because I don’t look good in pink / I ordered another costume for myself online. )

I’m dressing up as Rosie the Riveter. 🙂

Cute costume! I think the hubs and I are going to be a socket and a plug for our Halloween party.

I actually sort of hate Halloween. I grew up in a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn. Halloween there wasn’t about trick or treating. So I grew up with sort of an aversion to it and have never dressed up for it. My wife loves it and 1 year I wore a Superman shirt. Now that I have kids (5 and 2), I dressed last year in a make shift Mr. Potato Head because my son was Buzz Lightyear. This year he is Captain America so it’s back to Superman for me. I read an article about a little boy that wanted to dress as Elsa from Frozen. That’s cool but the caveat is that he wanted his dad to dress as Anna… Sorry son, that will not happen. Me in a dress is a non-starter.

I work Halloween so I won’t be dressing up. When I worked at a Children’s hospital I would semi dress up but now that I work with adults not sure what their protocol is.

I have a costume in mind but still need to get a few things. I have 2 events to wear it to next week so I better get it figured out! Yeah I agree the pink crayon doesn’t suit you!
Nice splits!

I’m thinking either a unicorn, flamingo, pineapple or the bachelorette (cause it’s so easy and I basically just need a bouquet of fake roses!) haha but I can’t decide which one I like the best!

Can’t wait to see what costume you end up with 🙂 I live in a hilly area, but at the top of the hill. No matter where I run, I always end up going up at the end. It sucks….
Rachael @ Catch Me if You Can says
