Hello! How are you doing today? I’ve had an eventful lil morning blogging and convincing my mom it was a joke. Just another day in RERland. Hope we can all move past.
In running and eating and repeating news… the weather in SoCal is perfection for running. Perfection. I don’t even know what else to say about it, but it makes me happy.
You know what else makes me happy? Watermelon.
And sometimes my cat.
The third thing that makes me happy today…
The baby ducks that show up every Spring. Well, I don’t think they’re the same ducks from last spring… I’m sure those ducks grew up and moved to somewhere with more affordable housing. But every year around this time there are the cutest lil duck families swimming in the riverbed. I always stop to watch them.
Then, they get scared and swim faster (even though I am no where near them, I think they smell my desperation).
So I snap a quick pic and run away so they can live their little duckling lives in peace. I love them.
The fourth thing that makes me happy…
When a lady bug lands on you because I’ve always been told that is lucky.
This one didn’t land on me, but I spotted it in the roses and thought that was a tiny bit of luck.
And finally this is making me happy and also obsessed…
Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson
The book is funny and real and so entertaining. I am trying to pace myself so it lasts a while, but I can’t stop listening to it. I highly recommend!

I think I saw those same baby ducklings during my first Ragnar leg on Friday (I was runner #7)! Looks like the same slimy, green water! It would have been so cool to see you out there!

Long run, yoga, and coffee! 🙂 Love my Saturday mornings

I guess a lot of people didn’t find your previous blog post humorous?
I definitely need to check out that book.

I seriously read that book when I had the flu in January, and it made me laugh SO hard — but that was kind of terrible, because I kept on cracking up and then laughing so hard that I would hack and be in pain — but I couldn’t stop myself from reading on and continuing the laugh/painful hack cycle. I feel that’s a sign of a good book. The parts with the raccoon literally brought tears to my eyes.

I suddenly can’t remember the raccoon’s name! I wanted to say it to you!!

I’m happy to be done with my work week and heading home to my Hubbie.

I’ll have to check out that book–I’ve never heard of it! I’m super happy that today was warm and sunny and that I have off for the weekend now! 🙂
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
Nothing today. My puppy had surgery and is wearing a cone of shame. He is so uncomfortable. And i am supposed to run the cherry blossom 10 miler Sunday. And there is supposed to be 40 mile an hour winds.
runeatrepeat says
That is the worst, they knock into everything and it is so sad 🙁
Tara @ Run and Live Happy says
I found a lady bug in my sink yesterday!! Maybe that was a little luck for me!

I just finished reading both of Mindy Kahling’s books, so that put me in a pretty good mood 🙂
Rachael @ Catch Me if You Can says

Mallory Layfield says
I’m reading Furiously Happy right now too! She’s so funny! She has another book called Let’s Pretend This Never Happened that’s also hilarious (plus the cover is a mouse wearing a cape, so that’s a bonus).
Erin says
Have you read her other book? It’s equally fantastic!!
runeatrepeat says
Yes. I think I’m going to listen to it when I’m done with this one. I read it, but that was a while ago.

I’ve been trying to be more mindful of the little things in running that make it better. Like breaks in the wind, being the first person on fresh snow, etc 🙂
