Hello from Juneau, Alaska! Another awesome, resting, food-filled, fun day here on the cruise. This morning we woke up and slid open the curtains to this scene:
Seriously.
The ship was scheduled to go into Tracy Arm for some scenic cruising. And it was GORGEOUS! We were super close to land on both sides of the ship. There were waterfalls and pieces of ice and it was magical.
After taking some pictures and enjoying the views for a bit I headed to the ship’s gym for a few miles. The fitness center is in the front of the ship and I was able to keep enjoying the gorgeousness from the safety of my treadmill.
Breakfast!
I tried to be a little productive and get some work done before our afternoon excursion.
Being an adult is the worst sometimes. But I’m on a freakin’ cruise so I cannot complain ever again in my life. Ever ever.
Then, it was time for lunch! My mom and I sat with a couple who thought my salad was epic. Yes, it was. I had to explain to them that I eat lot (like it wasn’t obvious).
Today’s excursion was a hike to see the Mendenhall Glacier. We booked it through the Princess Cruise, but the tour was led by a local tour company Gastineau Guiding. It was a small group of 9. We did a 4 mile hike and were rewarded with the best views of the Mendenhall Glacier at the end!
Don’t forget to follow RER on Instagram because I’m not able to update the blog as much as I’d like this week!
After the hike we had some time to explore downtown Juneau but opted to just do a tiny bit of souvenir shopping and head back to the ship. It was a LONG day!
Question: On a scale of 1-10 how productive were you today?
1 = you didn’t get out of bed, ordered pizza and had the delivery guy bring it straight to your room
10 = found the cure for cancer

It’s so beautiful! I’d say I’m about a 6 for productivity yesterday. Not too bad but nothing miraculous!

I am tired, long day of work, and my Mr. 8 had swim team practice (outside) where I literally run from my work to my car (we must park far away) at 4:30 and jet to his school to pick him up to get to swim team to get him changed and snacked and ready to go by 5:15, the good news is I am finally getting through the Intuitive Eating book you recommended.

Gorgeous! Keep those photos coming!
I didn’t cure cancer, but does it count if I work with people who are doing the research? Give me an “8” for my day.

I was semi productive – my dad came and took my son and me out so in the morning I did a lot of cleaning/laundry etc, but the afternoon was just shopping and going to the park! I went to Alaska on a cruise in high school and this brings back such great memories!!

Cancer was not cured today but not a total loss..I’d say a 7. I would love to do that glacier hike! My sis used to live in Alaska (in Fairbanks) but I never made it to the Alaskan coast while she was there. Have fun!

SO productive! Haven’t cured cancer, but I HAVE gotten a few more people housed! (I work providing services and housing to the homeless population in Skid Row in LA….) I feel like I’m crushing it at work…. hahah

That hike looks amazing! Cruises do have such great choices for salads. I always loaded a big one up at the buffets.

So far, only 1030 am, I’d say I am fairly productive. At a work conference and had a breakfast that looked a lot like yours. Fruit (lots of melons) and an egg white omelet with lots of veggies. This hotel has made to order breakfast which I’m enjoying. Hoping to put in an hour treadmill workout and 20 minutes of strength training after the conference. Then lay around in my new lulu leggings and be amazed by more (hopefully) Alaska pictures. If I do all that, I’d say a solid 7.

I’d say I’m a 7 today. I’m sort of on Vacation too and I’m killing two birds with one stone by visiting an Amish Community and Sarasota all at the same time!
