Disclaimer: If you are offended by the “F” word you should skip this post. The word fat doesn’t bother me and I’m joking.
Hello!! Last night I decided to turn Sunday Funday into Sunday FunNIGHT and went out for a beverage or tres.
This is me eyeing my pre-game cocktail…. it’s a bad idea to drink while getting ready because then you think selfies are a good idea. And they really never are, right?
Drinks.
I didn’t stay out that late, but was a little wound up when I got home and hung out watching TV. Then, it was time for a midnight snack…
Pro tip: Put LC Pizzas in the toaster oven to make them crispy. Like, after you cook them in the microwave though so it doesn’t take forever. No one has the time for that.
Two things I’ve NEVER seen in Orange County before:
1. This morning I set off on my run and saw this trail closed sign. I guess it rained some last night and flooded a little bit. We don’t have amazing infrastructure to deal with a lot of rain so even a little bit can flood. Thankfully, we know Affordable Remediation & Emergency Services who offers Mold Remediation Services Toms River NJ. Some people may think about hiring basement waterproofing contractors like Basement Waterproofing Systems to address such issues.
This was just weird to me though – I’ve ran here for 5 years and never seen this gate used!
Then, this is the craziest thing…
I was on a business call when I randomly heard it start raining LOUD! I looked outside and saw…
IT WAS HAILING IN ORANGE COUNTY!!?!?!?! Whhhhhat?
A.) This wasn’t in the forecast – shouldn’t they warn us or something?
B.) I cannot tell you the last time I saw hail. I seriously think maybe one time as a little little kid in our first house my mom took us outside when it was hailing to see it.
Then, it went away and the day looked like this again:
I’m not fat by accident…

Okay, one time years ago I was watching Top Chef and this adorable redhead on the left was one of the contestants. He and another chef friend were eating and one of them was like, “I’m not fat by accident.” It was basically in the context of acknowledging they LOVE FOOD.
I totally feel you on this chef, deep down in my soul even.
And ever since then I say this when I know I’m eating too much or getting a weird level of enjoyment out of eating.
Like today… when I cut my finger while putting together lunch at my parents. I was hungry so I just held it closed, tried to ignore the blood on my lettuce and sat down to eat.
I checked it again when I went to dig into the cake and it was still bleeding (not because the cut was bad, but because I eat fast). But I will not be stopped! NEVER GIVE UP ON THE THINGS YOU LOVE!!
Question:
Choose one =
A. Cut the tip of your finger off (anyone) and you get to eat your favorite food for the rest of your life.
B. You NEVER get to eat your favorite food again, but don’t have to cut your finger off.
I think my answer is obvious…
Al @ herbearings says
Goodbye fingertip. It’s been real.
Tricia @ A Couple of Dashes says
Hail freaks me out! Even though I live in Seattle where they say it rains all the time, it really doesn’t and it rarely hails here either so it’s weird when it does!
Melissa says
I loved Chef Kevin and the Voltaggio brothers too!. My husband and I have actually eaten at Kevin’s restaurant in Atlanta and it is phenomenal! Maybe some of the best food I have ever had in my life actually.
Renee says
That’s so weird, I got caught in a hail storm while out running in London today! It was a rare sunny day with blue sky, then it hailed for 3 minutes and was back to being sunny.
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job says
I don’t really know the answer to that. I am going to say cutting off the tip, but when it really comes down to it Im sure I will freak out. Way to stick to my guns.
Shannon in Tustin says
I’m going with keeping my finger. Food is fuel and I can nosh on my second favorite food, for the rest of my life, with all my digits in tact!
Shawna says
hahaha i love your posts. i’d def choose never eating my fave food again. i think i could live without bananas if i had to.
Jill @ Champagne for Everyday says
Ouch!! I cut my finger on my spiralizer on a regular basis. Right in the same place…it’s growing a little patch of scars. Do I ever learn? No. Do I keep spiralizing like crazy? Yes. LOL!

Hah! I used to work for Voltaggio on the right in that Top Chef picture. It was while the show was airing and when he won. We called him Hot Shot. It’s throwback Tuesday apparently. 🙂
Erin@BeetsPerMinute says
But I have really short fingers!!! I think I’d still say let ’em have it if it meant I could eat sea salted caramel anything for the rest of my life! 🙂
Kaelene @Unlocking Kiki says
I loved that contestant on Top Chef! Oh to have sunny days year round, the OC is sounding better and better.
Sue says
A. Does that mean I get to OD on peanut butter now?
I like your pink lip colour. What were you using?
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner says
Haha you crack me up! But I do love food…just the tip then 🙂
Jessica says

Losing Lindy says

Eugenia Byrne says
Well, since I have already cut the tip of my finger off and have a deformed finger as a result, I will go with A…and I would go with A even if I had a full finger still.
Sarah @ RunningChickago says
Pleeeease tell me that is sriracha on your salad..!

Who would choose b?????
Liv @ Healthy Liv says
Maybe I could just lie about what my favorite food is and say it’s turnips, and then keep my fingertip and keep eating ice cream to my heart’s content for the rest of my life?
runeatrepeat says
Ha!
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says
Hmmm.. just the tip, I would sacrifice for my favorite food!
runeatrepeat says
Just the tip. Love it 🙂
Liz@NovelRunner says
That cake looks magical! I would probably skip cutting my finger off (I feel like I would need it to write) and just eat all my “close second” foods for the rest of my life. Hope your finger is feeling better!
Tess says
Let’s clear up a few things in the contract…
1. Just the tip
2. I can eat my favorite foods and they are calorie free forever.
Then yes… A.
Life is full of loopholes If you don’t read the fine print.
Amy @ Amy M4gic says
I was also caught off guard by the hail in Southern California. I was walking my neighbor’s dog yesterday when it started hailing like crazy, out of nowhere. And then today, it’s clear blue skies and rainbows. Bizarre! (Also that cake looks delicious.)
runeatrepeat says
Seriously it was so freaky!!!
Kristin | W [H] A T C H says
Hail is always so alarming, isn’t it?
runeatrepeat says
YES!!!!!
Nona @ RunningHigh says
Just the TIP of my finger? Cuz then it’s no contest. I’d give up that bad boy in a second if it was between it and chocolate…however wrong that may be.
lindsay says
I’m cracking up! Ugh…I guess I’d have to go with A. Is it weird that it’s actually easier and less painful to think of life without a finger?
