Hello and Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday I had a lil ‘NSV’ aka ‘non-scale victory’ when I finally went to yoga! Are you guys familiar with ‘NSV’ from the ol’ weight loss message board days? No? Just me the weirdo, okay.
Anyway- good job Monican
This morning I did a sad attempt at speed work. I’m still not feeling it, so I make a compromise where I do the planned run even if it’s slower or whatev.
I am the most undisciplined person on Earth so I will give myself an “E” for effort. Yes, I took a poll of all the Earth’s inhabitants and everything so you can quote me on that.
I’ve been trying out these new Raw Vegan Wraps and had one with breakfast. Full review coming soon. (Spoiler: Don’t get too excited.)
Just the Tip : Fruit Ice Cubes
When I was on the Silk trip the hotel had 3 kinds of water out in the lobby. I love fancy water so I tried all three of them. Mmmmmm.
That inspired me to make my own ‘spa water’ at home.
Just the tip – use frozen fruit or veggie slices to flavor your water!
I used the leftover frozen watermelon chunks from my Skinny Watermelon Margarita to make a refreshing glass of my fave WATERmelonWater.
Then, I got super crazy with it and added a sprig of mint from the new addition to our patio garden. I know, watch out.
Speaking of watermelon fun… I went to the store in search of an iced tea pitcher yesterday and randomly spotted these watermelon measuring cups! I die. So, I scored but the pitcher search continues.
I found this set at Marshall’s but I found the exact same ones on Amazon here.
Question: What fruit or veggie would you put in your water?
Susan says
I love citrus water. I HATE cucumber water. The salon I used to go to had cucumber water & I found it to be the most disgusting thing ever. It tasted like feet. Not that I know what feet taste like but it smelled like what I think feet would taste like. I have also found that if the citrus has been IN the water too long then it tastes bad. Yes, I’m picky but I own it!
Julie @ RDelicious Kitchen says
I honestly thought you tried toasting your wrap and accidentally burned it haha ..

Sue says
Lemon lime but I hardly take cold water and it hardly gels with warm/room temp water.
Aurora@Fitness is Sweet says
Fruit over veggies for me with the exception of grapefruit. My dining hall at school attempts to be fancy by having flavored waters, but the grapefruit one is DISGUSTING.
LosingLindy says
I like berries…all the berries

Pineapple and mint in water is the best!

And I still say NSV all the time 🙂

Thanks for the great frozen fruit tip for the ice water! I think I will use strawberries and blueberries. I think my clients would love that!

Debbie @ Healthy Running Mom says
I love fruit infused water. I have berries in my Camelback right now. It’s usually cucumbers & sometimes mint too. I put it in 1st thing in the a.m. & refill my bottle throughout the day. LOVE it!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I love lemon and lime in my water – so good! But I bet strawberries would be good too!

OK you’re like the third person this week I have heard mention this fancy water business. I need to start trying this – first stop – canteloupe water! 😉

I think putting pineapple and mint would be real good oddly enough. thanks for sharing

Watermelon mint water sounds amazing!! I’ve heard putting frozen grapes in your wine, that’s more up my alley. 🙂
Ashley @ OurPersonalRecords says
I think I’m going to have to do more experimenting with my water. I just drink plain water, but have tried the cucumber/lemon water and think it’s the most refreshing thing ever! Is it weird to think that basil and watermelon water might be good? That is weird.
Shannon B. says
I put a handful of frozen strawberries in my water bottle every morning. I leave them in there all day, even with several refills, I have yummy water all day! When I get home my beagle knows she gets the strawberries. They are very water logged, but she thinks I’m giving her gold!
Tina says
Ummm, does it count that I put frozen berries in my Sangria?!?! Maybe I should try it in my water too. 😉
runeatrepeat says
Ha! Yes, totally counts 😉
Becky @ Olives n Wine says
Oooh… I think I’d do lime and mint. I’d feel like I were drinking a mojito but I could do it at work 😉
Johanna B says
I like berries in my water. Can’t imagine cukes in water but since so many people like it I guess I’ll give it a try.
Kailin @ Logs and Thoughts says
I’d put in orange, lemon or lime. I like tons of other fruits, but citrus just sounds most appetizing.
Jojo says
I love putting cukes in my water. It’s such a refreshing taste
Lindsay says
I looove cucumber water (I love cucumber cocktails even better!) but can’t stand lemon or lime. I actually think it makes the water taste dirty. Weird, I know.
Amy says
I love both lemon/lime and cucumber water. Refreshing on a hot day. But I kid you not, my friend and I are obsessed with hot peppers and one time we added habaneros to our water. It was…interesting.
