I am soooo proud of myself again! That makes two days in one week. Whhhhat?! (Note: I confuse doing healthy things with being a good person so eating broccoli or getting enough sleep make me feel like a saint or something.) Let’s talk about why I’m so proud of myself and you can write a letter to Heaven if you think it’s enough to get me in…
I went to yoga yesterday!!! Not just that, I bought a Groupon for 30 days unlimited yoga. So, I am really going to try and go any day I’m not running a hard workout. Boom!
Truthfully, I really want to be a yoga person and be super at peace and treat my body like a temple and be kinder and find happiness on a deep level. But, heading to yoga 3 times a week is what I’m shooting for right now.
Last night I carb-loaded at home with pizza… it’s always the right thing to do. #science
And this morning I got up and did my thing to get ready for a long run. This process includes dancing around like a weirdo, downloading more Serial related podcasts and spraying the part in my hair with sunblock.
Recently the gorgeous Mama Laughlin herself sent me these O2 Gold tablets to try before my runs. I’ll try anything once so I gave them a whirl this morning before my run and was super excited about it. I have only used them once so far so I can’t give a full review, but I did feel good on my run and it was a long one and hot day!
(Mama Laughlin has run a marathon and is now a fitness figure competitor so I value her opinion on this stuff. (Is that supposed to be run or ran?))
I also sipped some Spark drink mix that came with my fun pack. My one friend SkinnyRunner drinks this stuff and loves it and now I can see why.
Run – 17 miles done. I didn’t look at pace or anything, but I wasn’t going for speed on this one.
Post run I was like, “Let me take a picture so I can say I did it and then I need to shower because I stink.”
You’re welcome?
I have no idea how, but I got filthy on this run. It’s odd because I wasn’t running trails, I was just on the streets and sidewalks around Orange County. Guess it’s dusty!
Post-run breakfast!!! All the pancakes and all the fruit and all the beverages.
Vegas slept through all of this, per usual.

I want to do yoga so bad! I tried going to a gentle yoga class at my gym and I loved it (even though it was me and a bunch of old people, ha). But now I’m working full time and the class is at 10am so I can’t go. 🙁 I’ll figure something out. Good luck with your class!

I want to be a yoga person too but I just can’t get into it :(. Keep us posted on how you’re liking it – maybe some inspiration will help!

You’re correct! It’s “run.” Ran is past tense and run is the past participle, so if there is “have” or “has” in front of it, it’ll always be “run.” I hope that makes sense! I’m an English teacher, so I can hook you up:)

Thanks! I seriously had no idea and was hoping someone would help me out 🙂

I tried out a trail running breakfast club which involved a whole pile of climbing, 14 miles, and breakfast at 1 pm. Food + trail running is something I can get behind.

I feel like everyone I know loves Sparks, which means I should probably give it a try…finally. I always manage to get dirty while I run. Always.

I bought a groupon for unlimited crossfit classes for a month. My goal is to also go 3 times a week.

Running some hill repeats this wonderful Sunday and then eating all the food {watermelon to be exact}! I guess you will go 10 times in the next 30 days!

You are funny! Your post made me laugh because I could identify so much with the feelings post-run. Never heard of sun tan lotion on a parting before……..still, I’m a guy and wouldn’t think about it. Have to say that I really like reading about Roxy! What a lovely dog and family member. I’ve just started my blog (codedangel.com) and would like to thank you for inspiring me to just get on with it.

Yay for you and yoga! I feel so much better when I have a regular practice. I hope you meet your 3 day per week goal! You can!

I have always wanted to be a yoga person too but have never gotten around to it. And it’s super tough so I get intimidated haha. Maybe I will give it a try. 🙂
