Low Calorie Ice Cream

Uncategorized

FacebookTweetPin
23 May

After work I went to the store for one thing – ice cream. (Of course, I walked out of the store with 6 things, but that’s not the point.)

I was about to walk out with my usual and favorite mint n’ chip ice cream when this Artic Zero caught my eye. It is 150 calories for the entire pint of Mint Chocolate Cookie flavor! Unheard of! artic zero ice cream

Review of Artic Zero Low Calorie Ice Cream:

Love that it’s only 150 calories for the pint, but it tastes very low calorie too. This may not satisfy a “real” ice cream craving. The consistency is a little weird – kind of like when I put too much xantham gum in my smoothies?

I’d get it again if I just wanted a volume, not quality kinda dessert. I know most people like quality over quantity, if that’s you – don’t get this.

Since I saved so many calories with the ice cream, I topped it with lots o’ granola. And all was right with the world. artic zero with granola

I’ve fallen prey to Arctic Zero too and it didn’t do it for me either…I even tried putting Dark Chocolate Dreams and chocolate chips on it and it still didn’t work for me. But now you have my wheels turning…getting the Vanilla flavor and adding granola and fruit could maybe make a great fro-yo replacement! 🙂

I have been wanting to try that. I am all for sub par tasting ice cream.. because I love all ice cream. Even the really icy shitty ice cream at Jason’s Deli. Doesn’t that brand have a boatload of protein, too? I will have to track it down. XO

I can’t believe all the haters. I love this stuff, granted I have my favorites and not so favorites but people come-on this isn’t ice cream. It’s a protein based frozen dessert (16 grams) that nearly everyone on the planet can eat guilt-free. Last time I checked most of the ingredients are organic as I’m not a fan of chemical crap going in my body. Some people enjoy the full fat experience but I’m not a fan of eating something today and seeing it on my thighs the next. All I know is I can eat a whole pint at 150 calories at 10 at night while watching a movie with my bf and I don’t feel bad about it.

Love your perspective! I love the stats of this stuff and the fact that you could legitimately eat it daily without worrying. I have to find it!

Arctic Zero is not very good if you eat it as-is, right out of the carton.

But with a little sprucing up, it is ah-mazing.

This takes 5 minutes and I’d say it tastes about 1000X better.

      In a food processor:
      Pint of Arctic Zero
1/2 c. to 1 c. almond milk (or other milk of choice)
      1 T vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon (cardamom, allspice are also good)

blend away until it’s creamy! the consistency should look like soft serve ice cream.

I have thought about that ice cream, but the only place I can find it is online and there was no way I was going to plunk down that much money for something I hadn’t tried. And all I’ve heard about it makes me realize I wouldn’t like it anyway!

OMG how heavenly to think that a PINT of ice cream is only 150 calories. BUT it is too good to be true I guess even still I can’t wait to try this find. Me and ice cream have a secret affair going on. Since it’s the one thing I reach to when bored or upset this would be perfect to satisfy that need. Then I can save the good stuff for a well deserving moment. Thanks for sharing Monica!!!

You know, I keep hearing about this Arctic Zero stuff but none what I hear is all that good. I guess I probably wouldn’t be satisfied even if I did get to each the whole pint… but then again I really can’t knock it ’til I’ve tried it, right? And at the very least it probably wouldn’t be as annoying as measuring out a half-cup of ice cream every time I want some… stupid tiny servings… heh.

I recently tried this ice cream as well and couldn’t get past the gummy texture. I’d much rather have a smaller portion of the full calorie goodness 🙂

I much prefer quality over quantity especially when it comes to ice cream.

I hate when I put too much xantham gum in my smoothies! I usually end up throwing them out and starting over when I do that (which happens quite often to be honest – I’m not the best smoothie maker).

the lesson i have learnt: you can’t trick your body … go for the real stuff and you’ll feel 1000 times more satisfied – never eat something you don’t enjoy 100%!!! (and you end up with the same amount of calories -> you eat less REAL icecream and don’t have to add sugary granola – and there is SO much added crap in diet food) … it took me a loooong time to learn this – i also tend to crave large volumes of food because the process of eating comforts/destresses/satisfies me …

Hehe, I have a pint of that in my freezer right now 🙂 I’m not crazy about that flavor, but it beats the hell out of the pumpkin flavor. I thought I would love everything pumpkin flavored, but Arctic Zero makes it taste bad!
