My Big Life Milestone Announcement

Fun· My Life

23 Jan

Here’s a lil peek into my weekend as told by pictures of my food, bad jokes, random thoughts and other…

I mailed a suitcase. The post office person said they’ve seen it once before (but I still felt super random).

mailing a whole suitcase (600x800)

General Mills is busted for sending me cereal the day after my cleanse was over. I had no food in my house so I kinda had to…

coco puffs (450x800) i love cereal

This is a bathtub of cereal aka Heaven.

Friday night pondering…

going out on a tuesday (600x800) drink wine time

Now, I have a big life milestone I want to share… it’s taken me years to get to this point and I’m very proud to be able to say,

For the first time in my life I drank a whole bottle of wine by myself.

Whaaaatttt?! Yes. Your local Monican drank her first full bottle of wine last night.

me drinking wine

I think most of you are surprised I haven’t done this before. But I really only drink on the weekends. And I drink the hard alcs more than wine. So, when I realized there was only a little left in the bottle of white I was sipping I was surprised and then realized this was it, this was my moment.. and I finished it off. Now I feel like a real adult.

I seriously text my best friend to tell her and she was proud. We’re going to celebrate the occasion soon (with more wine of course).

Fun fact: I’ve never had boxed wine before. (Don’t you feel like this is also surprising?! I do.)

Despite my wine drinking extravaganza last night I woke up to run this morning.

running orange county (600x800) running around (800x450)

And hung out with the Rox after my run. But, I think I’m taking her home soon. She seems over the visit. Boo.

Question: Are you surprised I drank a whole bottle of wine? Does this mean I have a drinking problem? Is this my intervention?!

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

We’re all about the boxed wine over here! Although the kids are teenagers now (well, half of them are anyway) and it’s a bit tougher to monitor if there is any wine being… taken… if it’s in a box. HA! I’ll just have to put the boxed wine beside our bed on the nightstand for safekeeping…

Definitely not time for an intervention! Nice work getting up and sweating it out 🙂

I still have yet to accomplish drinking a full bottle of wine to myself. Kudos to you!

      I haven’t had boxed wine either. I think I’m a wine snob?

      I can’t open a bottle without finishing it… 1 bottle = 4 glasses. No problem. Congrats! (I think, who knows I’m a wino).

Right?! It’s just 4 glasses, people have 4 beers all the time.

Oh, Monica! We’ve all been there. Besides, if you lived in Paris, it would make complete sense.

My head just hurts thinking of doing this….wine just doesn’t agree with my head. (My stomach is fine though…ha!) In general I am more of a cold beer kind of girl.

Congrats though and seriously..what took you so long?

Congrats! Welcome to the club 🙂

Plus … If you were on a cleanse before … And then ran a lot the next morning … I’m pretty sure that cancels the wine out anyway!

Ha! I know so random. Ben needed some stuff and he packed the suitcase last time he was here but couldn’t take it with him.

I had a suitcase mailed to me once from Jamaica when it got left behind (its a long story). But I had the hotel throw out the actual suitcase to save on shipping. So I got a box of clothing that smelled like stale coconuts 3 weeks later.

If I could count the number of times I’ve drank an entire bottle of wine…. No intervention needed yet. 🙂

After a really bad breakup in 2005 I drank a whole bottle of wine by myself and not even realized it. Oh well!

I drank an entire bottle of wine (throughout an entire day) at Thanksgiving, annnnnd I stopped drinking shortly thereafter. I was kind of impressed, but kinda of terrified. And now I find out I’m pregnant so it’s really for the best 🙂 no wine for a long time for this mama. Lots of seltzer for me!

If finishing a whole bottle of wine by yourself is wrong, then I don’t want to be right. Plus that means I’m wrong way too often! Kudos for still running in the morning!
