I found this shirt in the depths of my luggage (I’m still living half way out of my suitcase since I’m staying at my Mom’s). It says, “My Heroes wear bibs”. I got it before the Surf City Marathon last year and haven’t really worn it yet.
I kinda get self conscious about wearing shirts that suggest I’m a runner since I don’t look like one, but I guess I didn’t care today and went for it 😉
Sundays are a day of rest in more ways than one over here. I did 8 minute abs when I woke up and then made breakfast. I woke up hungry!
First, I had a small bowl of cereal while contemplating breakie and then decided to make a cottage cheese bowl. In the mix: pineapple cottage cheese, watermelon, cereals, almond butter, almond milk.
I am going through this pineapple cottage cheese like it’s going out of business.
The dogs waiting for a walk while I ate…If they could tap their paws they would.
And coffee, because I like it now.
After church my parents invited Ben and I to brunch. I ordered the Salmon Salad, but it turns out they are out of salmon. Oh well, this is a little greasy diner and I was taking a chance ordering fish there anyways.
I changed my order to a tuna sandwich and started with a salad. Restaurant ranch dressing is too good (and too bad).
I love tuna sandwiches. I try to only get them once in a while (mercury and mayo), but they’re so good!
Sometimes restaurants make their tuna too wet (read: dripping with mayo), but this was pretty decent. I was happy the diner didn’t have salmon after all.
After lunch I washed my car – something I didn’t do once in Maryland! There were some snacks during my errands and then I decided to just make an early dinner.
I used my new Cali bowl to make a massive salad! I will soon be starting my Open Sky shop (that’s what the countdown on the left is all about) and this was one of the first items I was sent for it.
In the salad – spinach, tomatoes, carrots, strawberries, mushrooms, almonds, cranberries and topped with TJ’s raspberry gorgonzola dressing.
Nutella! Finally this jar of Nutella is done. I actually forgot I had it after my brother’s birthday (when I used it on his b-day cake). But a few days ago I spotted it in the cupboard and have been sneaking bites ever since. I couldn’t stop
Today I had it on a bagel, but I’ve also been eating it straight up and on top of any type of carb available. Too good.
I don’t know if I’m tired or under-fueled, but I felt like I want to eat even though I wasn’t hungry. I need to focus on this because my next appointment with the RD is Wednesday.
After some snacky times I made a SIAB to help fill me up!
My brother’s girlfriend is doing a science/beauty experiment of sorts on me tonight. Let’s hope it’s not a disaster!

Monica! What do you mean, “you don’t look like a runner?” Don’t be silly. You ARE a runner, and you sure look like one to me.
Also, I’m really curious as to what’s in that SIAB. It looks so creamy!
Olivia @ Blissful Runner says
Heh. I haven’t washed my car since moving to MD either. Must be an east coast thing…
amanda says
I agree, you soooo look like a runner. BTW, nutella is my favorite!!
StephanieTBS says
You are 100% a runner and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! I mean a runner is DEF. someone who calls their Fridays 5k Fridays, right!?
Amanda says
Oh Boo! You look like a runner! And if anybody is skeptical of your running talents just ask them how many miles THEY did this morning.
Erika @ Food, Fitness, & Fun says
So sugary*
Amber K says
I feel the same way, I don’t want people to think I’m a runner! Especially since I’m better described as a jogger who walks a lot. lol
Erika @ Food, Fitness, & Fun says
I just had to comment – I am in love with Nutella! So sugar and bad for you, yet sooooo frickin’ good! 😛

LOVE the shirt! I am also self conscious about doing anything that claims “I’m a runner!” because I am clearly 30 pounds overweight. I’m working on “owning it” – a few weeks ago I finally put a “13.1” sticker on my car. Maybe I’m big, and maybe I’m slow, but I DO run! And just a reminder – you freaking ran a marathon!!!
In other news, I know that I am a hypocrite about this, but I think your self body image is a bit distorted – you absolutely look like a runner!! But like I said, I understand how you feel and am so proud of you for wearing the shirt!
Anna (twelve22) says
Pshhh! You definitely look like a runner when you’re out there kicking but — running! But I know what you mean; even when I’m going along at a pace/distance that I know most other people couldn’t achieve, I still feel like I’m an impostor.

You are crazy for not thinking you look like a runnner!! mmm all your eats look soo yummy! Please show pictures of the beauty/science experience!! 🙂
Sonia @ Master of Her Romaine says
I think you’re a runner! You definitely run way more than I do 😉
I always feel self conscious in my No Meat Athlete tshirt! I have been slacking on my workouts lately and have still been wearing the shirt…
Can’t wait to see how the beauty/science experiment turns out 🙂
Karyn says
you totally look like a runner 🙂
and i absolutely hate any amount of mayo in my sandwiches so i can never order tuna when i go out
Lauren says
I am always so hesitate to order tuna at a restaurant for those same reasons (and I really hate mayo) but sometimes it’s the only veggie option and I have to roll with it.
PS- LOVE that shirt! 🙂
Laura says
I hate when you order a wrap/sandwich & it drips!
Cat says
I feel the same way, especially when I am around runners that look more hardcore than I am. A lot of us let our appearance devalue our achievements which is silly but it’s an easy trap to fall into. You definitely ARE a runner and deserve to wear that shirt with pride!!
Kelly says
I think you look like a runner.
I think its kinda weird but I love your mugs and plates. I always get a joy when their pictured!
