Actually, I did run – repeat! I ran my usual run in the morning, and then I met my running group for a special mid-week run to celebrate National Running Day!

I feel you on the toenails. My downfall is skiing, however; not running. I was able to squeeze in one day of skiing at Christmas and lost BOTH my big toenails afterwards! They are starting to look just barely sort of normal now but I have to keep dark polish on them cuz I’ve got the same bloody bruise-y thing as you appear to. Sports are lovely. PS I think it’s because my feet grew about a half size post-baby but I didn’t exactly realize it because I moved to Cali while preggo and stopped wearing closed toed shoes, haha! I love SoCal but I do not love foot expansion.

Dunkin donuts should have free donuts the day before national running day not after so we can run off the calories…

Ps is it driving you crazy to keep seeing so many DD commercials here in SoCal lately? I hope it means lots of DD stores are coming soon! I am also an east coaster who is dying without DD. My friend on Camp Pendelton actually brought me a box last week when she came down to San Diego.

PPS do the pedicure ladies give you crap about your toe nails? I have to convince them its just from running so much not from some deadly foot fungus before they will let me put my feet in their foot bath, lol.

All of the DD free donuts reminders are making me very sad because I live in LA aka the land of no Dunkin. I run here but I run on fumes because I have no dunkin.

I didn’t find the time or energy to run yesterday but I did get a pedicure. Oh and my big toe nails look exactly like your’s from running, haha. So much for lighter nail polish colors…

“I’m just happy I have all my toe nails”

I hear you on that one. I’m too embarrassed by the ridgy, black&blue state of my toe nails to even get a professional pedi. So I DIY, even though it doesn’t look as nice.

      Loving your blog 🙂

All 3! And I just received a pair of “shoes” (Vibrams) 2 days ago and am itching to hit some more websites. Running, sports related naturally. 🙂

I repeated another 12+ hour work day, yuck. Have worked on my feet almost 40 hrs already this week since the marathon Sunday. Been wearing my Pro Compression socks nonstop.

I love pedicures! I stopped getting black toenails and having them fall off when I got bigger running shoes. Feet swell a lot in long distance running so my normal size 8 for street shoes becomes 9.5 or 10 (brand dependent) for running shoes which looked giant a first.

      Happy running day!

I’m currently missing two toenails from back-to-back half marathons at the end of April. No pedicures for this lady =(

Hi! I love your blooooog! I read every post.

I got really excited about National Running Day today and ran once before work and once after. Now I am foam rolling and watching Nip/Tuck on Netflix sooo…pretty great day.

Also, I just learned about cold-brewing coffee for iced coffee via a Smitten Kitchen recipe and I think I may be obsessed. Have you tried it?

Also, you are not alone with the feet. I have size 10 feet and I’m only 5’4″. The most embarrassing thing is that I wear size 11 running shoes. That helps with the toenails but still, not sure I can ever let my boyfriend see my unpainted toenails.

Run: I ran 3.23 miles today… Actually it was a lot of running because of a knee injury, but it still counts!
Eat: I recovered by eating a cheese stick and of course I pulled it apart cuz it’s more fun that way! 😉 I also had a green smoothie but that’s not as fun as a cheese stick! 😛
Repeat: I’m pretty sure I said “Happy National Running Day” a bajillion times today…

Random fact about me: I had HUGE feet in middle school… Size 9.. Granted I still have size 9 feet but when you’re in 6th grade that makes for some massive clown feet! 😛

No run, lots of eat. I loose. When I was running lots and all trails I went forever without a pedi cause I was always trying to grow back one toenail or another. Now I feel like a looser for having all my fresh clean toenails.
