Hello! How’s it going?

In running news, I just signed up for the OC Marathon that’s coming up May 3rd!! Hometown race, I gotta do it right?

oc marathon logo

The race is 52 days away and also has a half marathon option so if you’re looking for an excuse to come visit me – there ya go!

Let me know if you’re running it so we can high five and exchange sweaty hugs fist bumps!!

I ran the race the last two years and you can check out my OC Marathon recap here.

In new oven / food blog news …

I made my first meal with my brand new stove last night! I had some turkey sausage link things that I combined with quinoa and beans.

first meal with my new oven (800x600)

Plus I roasted some squash for a vegetable element.

But, I didn’t realize that while the delivery guy took the manual from the bottom drawer of the oven there was some warranty paper thing on the top rack that I couldn’t see. I baked it!!

I blame the fact that it was margarita Monday for the oversight.

After my run this morning I made sure to ice my knee and drink some extra iced coffee. I was super tired yesterday!

Today I’m snacking on lots of chocolate covered coconut…

dark chocolate coated coconut (600x800)

and the most amazing mango of your life.

And I’m sporting the side braid again. Keeping it casual. You know.

Question: How’s your hair today?

Down, up, straight, curly, fancy, greasy, Grumpy, Doc…

Are you coming to Orange County to run the half or full marathon?

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

I’m new to your blog and I love it! I’m also a new runner. Well I ran a full and a 1/2 in my 20s but I’m now turning 40 and back at it. I have the STL Go April 11th. Just praying I’m not kicked off the track.

I’m running the OC half!! I ran it for the first time last year and loved it! I ran the Surf City half, will be running the OC, and want to run a third half marathon by the end of the year….thinking about that Disneyland race if I can afford it. Turning 30 this year, so I wanna run 3 🙂

I love the braid, my hair is so thin, that I can’t pull that off any longer.

I also love that you are burning paperwork in your oven. I tease everyone I know that my life is really a hit comedy show in Australia, your life is similar is silliness to mine, so maybe your life is a hit show too. 😉

The OC mary is the day before V’s 8th bday…not that I am planning on a mary. 😉

My hair is a mess today. It is still up in some kind of lopsided bun from class this morning. I have been running around doing errands so I haven’t stopped to shower yet. Classy.

wait i want those coco chip things! where did you find them? are there weird preservatives or are the cool?

hair is kind of a mess right now… i curled it earlier this week so it’s “wavy”-ish but its kind of fallen out for the most part. the sides are definitely greasy and i didn’t remember to spray dry shampoo tehre/ i think it’s noticeable. i used a clip for the top layer and it’s ok.

in short if anyone looks closely it’s not gonna be good! haha.

My hair is totally dirty and curly right now. It’s probably quite “Grumpy” although I think it is always better when I skip a wash!

Those dark chocolate coconut chips…<3 they look fantastic!

Okay, that is SO FUNNY that you baked the manual. That’s totally something I would do! I feel normal-ish. I lived in Orange County when I was a kid (I’m from Vancouver, BC but my dad transferred down there for work for a couple of years). It would be cool to go back down there for the marathon one day!

My hair is loc’d up (as it has been the past 10 years) but I’m sporting it like in a long volleyball braid thing down my back.

I have a fancy do right now. Wash hair, fall asleep on it, wake up with a curly fro. It works for me. Curly hair, don’t care. 🙂

My next race is the Austin 10/20 3 miles away from my house, and the start line is right where I work, so I can use nice inside toilets instead of porta potties before the race. Fancy. I’ve only done one So Cal race and that was AFC half marathon in San Diego in August. It was really hot that day…

Love the OC half, but not running it this year!
Running the Avocado half a few weeks after that. 🙂
You should see the medal–it’s legit!

The OC Marathon will be my first full! When I saw your post with the 52-day countdown I kinda freaked a bit. Yikes – so soon! I’m officially in the “everything hurts” portion of my training so I’m just trying to Keep Calm and Carry On!

To that end…up-do for days! I either go to work right after my run and I’m too lazy to do the full wash-dry-flat iron, or I’m going to run right after in which case, not gonna waste my time with the flat iron!

I would LOVE to come to the OC half marathon (not sure I’m ready for a full marathon!), but I’m not sure I can justify the $3k to make a trip to the US 😛

My hair today is mostly curly … a short hair cut means my styling options are limited, so I just go with the natural look!

I have dirty hair that’s curly with some frizz. I saw the weather forecast called for rain so I figured a bad hair day was inevitable. Why waste expensive product. Thanks to the good ole shower cap I showered and just kept the curls dirty. 🙂

Funny that u baked the warranty. Totally that margaritas fault.
