Right when we were about to eat lunch my Nino and Nina called and invited us to lunch at Sizzler. Far be it for me to turn down a salad bar, so I was all over that. But, since it was noon and Sizzler wasn’t until 2pm, I needed a snack…
I had chickpeas, fruit tuna with crackers. Random, maybe.
Delicious and just what I wanted, yes.
After a quick visit to my Grams it was Sizzler time! I had the salad bar and started with a BIG SALAD. I would breakdown the components of this salad, but I’m not going to insult your intelligence by suggesting you don’t know what the heck run of the mill salad stuff looks like…
Round II was fruit, more bread, and this whipped cream based oreo salad thing. It was very rich and delicious.
After lunch we hit up Matt’s basketball game. They won.
I have been counting down the hours and minutes until I can get some quality frozen yogurt in CA! But, first I took a walk to get myself really revved up for it. Before leaving I had some leftover couscous with beans. Then, finally it was yogurt time!
This one is mine, I got several types of frozen yogurt and went to town on the toppings. I always get granola, because that’s my favorite, and today I also got some good chocolately toppings. This puppy better last me a few months since I won’t be able to hit up Blizzberry the next time I’m in town. It’s going to be a while before I get ice cream again once I leave CA, I’m planning on giving it up for Lent! This was totally worth every bite 🙂
No eating after dinner…
The combination of the time change, traveling and weird meal times has my body a little “off”, I am committed to not eating after dinner if it’s random snacking (which it mostly has been in the past, hence the rule) – but if I’m hungry, I’ll have something. I’m still honoring my hunger, this goal is to honor my lack of hunger!

You won’t believe how eating after dinner can affect your weight goals. I’m glad I can control that habit now.

That frozen yogurt looks amazing! I’m kind of glad we don’t have anything like that close to our house because I would go to town every day!
Great looking salad from the salad bar – buffets are hard. I always go in with good intentions but leave feeling stuffed.

I love salad bars! They are great for days when you want to try a little bit of everything without going overboard. And chickpeas on top of salads make me so happy!

I miss self-serve frozen yogurt places! They’re the best idea ever!
No eating after dinner is a good goal. I’ve been trying to do it too but sometimes I’m legitimately hungry. I know a lot of people go to bed to not eat but if I’m hungry, I absolutely cannot fall asleep!

You live in Howard County, right? There is a new frozen yogurt shop on Route 40 in Ellicott City called Tutti Frutti. I’ve been to many fro yo places in California and Hawaii, from Yogurt Land to Menchie’s, and this place has the BEST yogurt and it’s self serve. You should try it, I know I forsee many, many visits to Tutti Frutti in my near future.

I have not been to a Sizzler in such a long time. I had no idea they still existed. I used to love the Salad bar.
I just got my copy of Intuitive Eating and starting it this weekend. Can’t wait!

I’ve never heard of Sizzler, but I love places with good salad bars!
That frozen yogurt looks so good! I wish there was a place like that close to me!

Yes! I think that we should honor both our hunger AND our fullness (or lack of hunger). So while of course you should eat if you’re genuinely, physically hungry, it’s also good to have a goal of NOT eating when your body doesn’t really need any more food!
I recently posted on honoring both hunger AND fullness on my blog, if you want to check it out:

I just came across your blog, and the first image of the chick peas has me craving chana masala…now, if only there was a decent Indian restaurant within 100 miles! Love the food photos, and I look forward to reading more about this foam roller business. 🙂
